In a single instant, the fire consumes me.
Burning me to the core
Torching away my self-control
Licking hungrily at my sanity.
The heat is extreme; I'm too weak to move, to speak.
The flames engulf my soul
And melt away the façade.
Warmth tingles in my blood, making my skin hot and my breath scarce.
Like a wildfire, it's out of control;
I don't want to control it.
I let the flames take me.
They take me higher
To a place of endless blue sunlit sky.
Rapture.
Over and over, like a phoenix, I am reborn from the ashes
Each time the fire tears me apart.
It sears me from the inside out.
It warms me when all I knew was cold.
It lights my way
And I can't help myself
As the fire leads me to my destiny.
