A/N: HEY! I told you I'd do a Naruto story, for those that read the new chapter of Gottheit.

Anyway, this isn't, most likely, going to stay in this form.

I wanted to test the waters with this one, and just write up a story-start in about all of a week. It will likely have errors, the conversations will very likely be odd and awkward sounding, and the pacing will seem off. But, I wanted to put this out there and get some critiques.

SO PLEASE REVIEW!

Anyway, this is really AU, and as is tradition, there are gender bends. No, not the ones that go "Oh hi, Naruto! Remember me, Gaara! Well, I have breasts and a vagina now and I want to have your baby, so marry me!" Those are lame. You see two already in this chapter, and the fact that they're women has changed how they interacted with others. Specifically, Danako is more grandmotherly than serious like her counterpart, Danzo. And fem Kyuubi was friends with Kushina. Also, characters are added, there's mentions of characters that didn't exist, and there are events that never happened, so be warned. I don't need a lore lecture on why such and such is impossible. I know, and that's why this is a fic.

Well, with that out of the way, and this last warning that this work may not be up to snuff with my other works, I bid you good reading!

The ground shook with each mighty step, and the heavens trembled at each roar. The beast raged and rampaged upon the shinobi village of Konohagakure, ripping trees from the ground and smashing whole swaths of the outer rim of the village. Shinobi came in and died in droves trying to subdue the beast, but none could stop it. The Kyuubi was unstoppable. She was a force of nature that deserved the title 'Demon.' There was no hope.

Until he arrived. The man who some referred to as the Shinobi no Kami, God of Ninja: the Yondaime Hokage.

The battle was an amazing sight to witness. He subdued the beastly Nine Tails, the Kyuubi no Youko, in a matter of minutes; summoning the boss toad Gamabunta to hold the mighty demon fox down as he prepared a seal. Hand signs flew so fast no one would be able to even comprehend what any individual one was. The man had a plan, and he needed to be quick.

"Shiki Fuijin!"

Namikaze Minato knew that this was it; that he would die. He had accepted this, but he had other plans for his child. Kushina was dead, but her body was still fresh, and still possessed the containment seal for the Kyuubi. As well as a mother, his son, he knew, would need strength and guidance; this was his only sure hope.

His soul floated just behind his body, and behind that, the Shinigami, Goddess of Death, floated ominously.

"YOU HAVE SUMMONED ME, MORTAL. STATE THY NEED." The Shinigami shouted, her voice echoing in the blonde's head.

"I need you to seal the fox." He said, breath running thin, "And one other thing..."

The Shinigami pursed her lips at that, wondering what 'other thing' he could need.

"HO HO, THE FOX IS INDEED A DOABLE TRADE FOR YOUR SOUL, BUT WHAT ELSE DO YOU DESIRE, AND WHAT DO I RECEIVE IN RETURN?" She asked, ""BE QUICK."

He breathed out a sigh.

"I desire for you to give a gift to my son; your strength." He said, exasperated, "In return, he shall be your vessel and champion."

"CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER INDEED." She replied, pausing for a moment, "VERY WELL. I SHALL LET YOUR CHILD BEAR MY SOUL. THAT SHALL BE A BRILLIANT TRADE. THE WINDS OF FATE BLOW HARD, A GAEL UPON THIS WORLD. A VESSEL SHOULD AID ME IN EASING THIS RISING TIDE."

The Shinigami laughed as she reached through Minato, chanting as she grasped the Kyuubi. It was like a flash after that; the massive beast simply disappearing before their eyes and warping into its old vessel.

"GOODBYE, MINATO. AND THANKS FOR THE CHAMPION..."

The Shinigami removed her arm, as well as a chunk of Minato's soul, and flew into the small, crying child that lay no further than a hundred meters away from the battle. Minato was sure that he could stop the Kyuubi, so he hadn't needed his child farther than that.

The man only let out a sigh as his life faded, whispering and wishing in his head.

'Protect him, Kyuubi-kun. And guide him to greatness, oh Shinigami.'

*GASP*

Kurana jumped the moment she felt her control return, nearly launching her new body ten feet into the air. She gripped herself, rubbing every bit of flesh in a desparate act of reassurance. She was back; back in Kushina's body, back in her seal.

But something was off. Now, what...was...

"Why can I move Kushina's... HUH!?" Kyuubi stated, shocking herself that she could speak as well, "Why can... what's..."

Then she felt it. Kushina's absence. The infinite loneliness of the vessel. She was the only soul in this body, this corpse. And then, all the memories of the last few hours hit like the Four Tails' fist. Her rage, the mysterious man, Kushina and Minato's death... Naruto...

Her eyes widened at the last thought. She needed to find Naruto, her friend's child. Her child. She shot off like a rocket towards the sound of his screaming. She knew he would be protected by the Shinigami, but there could be never too much precaution taken when your child was involved. She found him in a clearing, sitting on a small stone dais. It was instantaneous, her reaction. Kurana picked the child up and wrapped him gently in her arms to quite him. He was only a day old, and was still very delicate.

"Minato!" A voice called out, followed by its owner a few seconds later, "Minato, where are you?"

Sarutobi Hirusen, the former Hokage of Konoha, had walked into the clearing to be greeted by Kushina holding her newly born son. This was good news indeed for him, as he noticed the steady flow of the Kyuubi's chakra coming off of the woman.

'He sealed it back. Good.' He thought, sighing in relief.

"Kushina..." Hirusen started, smiling at the mother and child combo.

"That's not me." The woman replied, staring him in the face, before sighing heavily, "I cannot lie or pretend to be her. Not to you, Sandaime. Not to anyone. You deserve to know the truth: I, am Kurana, the Kyuubi no Youko. The Nine Tails. Kushina is dead, and Minato gave his life to seal me. And, to seal the Shinigami into Naruto."

At that, a brilliant red fox's tail swung out from behind her, swaying in a continuous motion. The former, or now, not-so-former, Hokage paled. This was not good.

"Oh dear..." He stated absently, "Oh kami..."

The Kyuubi chuckled at that.

"Now, don't get me wrong. This is my body as much as it is- was -my partner's, and this child is as much mine as it is hers. Minato was as much my love as he was hers, as I was a part of her personality. I shall raise him here, in my village. With my people. So long as no one gets in my or my son's way." She ranted, the man looking significantly less terrified.

"Do not worry. None shall harm you." He sighed, "I will make sure of it."

She smiled at him while they sat in silence. She patted her now sleeping son, and Hirusen sat on a log resting after his fight. It was only broken when a legion of shinobi swarmed the place as soon as one found the Sandaime, all of them with faces of broken sadness, and all consuming anger.

The man they had come to see stood up to face them, realizing with disappointment that he needed to take the seat of Hokage once more. Much to his behest. He went up, silencing the murmurs of the crowd.

"We have suffered great losses tonight, I can not sugar coat that. We have lost our brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, lovers... our children, even. But most of all, we have lost our leader, the Yondaime Hokage Minato Namikaze." He said, some in the crowd gasping in shock or crying in mourning for their Hokage, "But, his family lives on, no matter how different they may ever seem."

Many were confused by that. What could he mean by 'different', and was it bad? Their questions were quashed, however, when a greying-black haired woman they recognized as Danako Shimura walked slowly up beside the Sandaime with a redhead and child in tow.

Sarutobi tilted his head at his old rival's sudden appearance, but quickly shrugged it off. She tended to appear suddenly like this. Whether it be to a meeting, or a trip to get coffee. It was like she just warped everywhere she went.

"I'll take this from here, Hirusen." She whispered to her old partner, turning to the crowd after she did so, "These two, this woman and child, are our heroes. They are the ones who, along with Minato Namikaze, are responsible for the sealing of the Kyuubi."

The crowd seemed happy at this, some even stopped crying to smile at the two, knowing that their Hokage's death wasn't in vain.

"However, they are not what you may refer to as human." Danako sighed, adopting a face of concerned sadness and difficulty, "They are the Kyuubi no Youko and the vessel of the Shinigami. The woman, at minimum, is a demon, just as she was in her fox form."

The crowd gasped, all of them shocked. Even Kurana, who questioned how the old woman knew of Naruto's condition. Sure, she had no intention of hiding the fact, as it should never be hidden- wounds must be addressed in order to heal, after all. But, on the other hand, she had to wonder just how she would've found out. It made her suspicious immediately. The woman had just appeared out from between two trees where she hadn't sensed an enemy before, and then grabbed her arms to bring her forward.

Numerous shouts for death, or banishment, followed the announcement, however, as many still felt the sting of her attack.

"Why is she still alive! Kill her, before she rages again!" A chunin screamed, mind in a rage at the loss of two of his siblings.

"The rampage was not my fault, someone was controlling me... I love your town, and shall guard it and my child, your Yondaime Hokage's child, to my death, so long as you do not provoke me to-" Kurana began.

"Quiet, demon! You have no right to speak after the suffering you caused?! How can a demon be controlled?! Liar! Kill her and be done with the child regardless of-" Another chunin screamed, her rage having boiled over after her family home's destruction. After her two toddlers were killed.

However, she was shut up by a hit to the head.

*THUNK*

The chunin collapsed in a heap as Danoko smashed her head with a walking stick.

"There shall be no threats of death! This woman is our villages future. The child is our future. Any threat of harm, death, slander, or hatred made to them will be responded to with lethal force!" The old woman shouted as best as her raspy voice allowed, her black and grey hair flowing in the wind, and one unbandaged eye staring down the defense force of Konoha, "I know you do not trust me after the ROOT incident, I know I have done wrong in the past. But most of all, I can assure you that I will always do what is best for our village. I will never falter in that mission, atleast."

A silenced reigned afterwards, the impressive aura of the former Head of ANBU making some of the weaker present sick.

"I must agree with Danako-sama." Sarutobi seconded, nodding along after he got over his shock, "They are loyal and powerful citizens of Konoha, and the last of two clans. There is no telling how strong the child will become with the Shinigami inside of him. And you have all seen the power of the Kyuubi. What will happen if you drove them off?"

The shinobi quieted, all of them feeling the weight of the words. This was a moot issue. Slowly, they began to head back and begin repairs, knowing it was still going to be a long night ahead of them. Only Sarutobi and Danako remained with the family of Minato.

"I appreciate your help, old friend." Hirusen said, looking over at Danako, who simply stared blankly back at him, before finally nodding in response to his thanks.

"And I appreciate that loyalty, dedication, and firey will of yours, Kyuubi. This town and world needs more like you." Danako thanked, "It would truly be a better place, then."

The ANBU smiled at the woman before her, turning away after a moment only to address her old comrade.

"I meant what I said back there, and it's best you remember that."

He didn't need to be told again. The pressure of her conviction was like honey it was so thick and smothering. He simply nodded and turned back towards Konoha.

"We need to get you two back to your home." He said, looking at Kurana and Naruto, "Let's go."

They nodded at once, and began following the old Kage, but Danako didn't move.

"You commin'?" Kurana asked, still patting her child. The ROOT leader simply shook her head 'no' and stayed in place, "Alright, suite yourself."

It was a few minutes before Danako would move again, in which she enjoyed the silence. Though she eventually found herself in the position of needing to address her watcher.

"Fugaku, come out here." She demanded, voice gentle but exasperated.

The man in question calmly strode out into the clearing from behind a tree, his blank eyes staring directly at the older woman. He looked confident and dark, like a phantom in the night. Truly, the perfect image of the Uchiha Clan Head.

"You know what I'll ask." He said, Danako nodding her head in turn at him.

"Hai. I do. But, I must deny it. And, I kow that that issue is not the only one here. You, or rather, your wife adopting Naruto is simply too little of an issue to bring up to me in this manner. You do not care for having another son, and she will trust Kyuubi. So, what do you really want."

He stared at her, narrowing her eyes.

"There is no ulterior motive beyond the obvious. I wish for that child to grow up safe and well and with a loving family. I do not trust the Kyuubi to provide that, even if I do trust her loyalty." He stated, looking Danako in the eyes. Or, eye, rather.

She sighed out loud and long.

"We both know that's shit, Fugaku. You want some sort of compensation for what I did. I cannot give you that more than I already have." She replied in a sad tone, "You think I'll give you the Shinigami because I harmed you in my defense of this village's spot as number one. Because your siblings were harmed more than I intended, you believe I should deprive a mother of her child. And you call me cruel."

Fugaku scowled at that, hate clear in his eyes.

"How dare you bring that up. You turned my two siblings into emotionless husks." The Uchiha head growled back, "And you tried to do the same with my cousin. And I know you try to do so with my son. I am disgusted by that, by what ROOT did to this village's image. You are a monster, but do not think that I would come to ask for a burden as compensation. I simply don't want you to get your hands on the Yondaime's son because he deserves better, not out of hatred towards you."

There was a pause.

"Though, I do believe that the prestige and power he would bring my clan could be a boon. I will... give you that."

She sighed again at his response, as she knew she had no chance of reconciliation with him. And she knew why. Her ROOT program, back in the day, had been incredibly successful, but totally devastating to those involved. It was initially started as a way to turn captured, young enemy shinobi into Konoha nationalists and warriors.

However, it had mutated and grown under Danako's command. She first began to aim it at Konoha's own citizens. But then, even worse, it turned to focused kidnapping. It gathered all with a bloodline, forcing them into becoming glorified breeding stock, then forced them to marry into well known and respected, as well as loyal, clans or families of Konoha. It had resulted in a great increase in bloodlines and power, but destroyed their public appearance.

When ROOT was disbanded and revealed itself and its actions, and the Third Shinobi War had ended, numerous villages had demanded to have their stolen bloodlines back. However, even after they were returned, and the children collected, they only ended up running back to Konoha to be with their 'families.' It was bad. Code Red bad. It only avoided starting the Fourth Shinobi War by a margin, and only because of the blood wars in Wave Country, as Kirigakure had been the most affected.

But still, others had been hit hard. Konoha had stolen a whole array of powers, ranging from simple nature-combination kekkei genkai, to the Yondaime Kazekage's niece, who could create gold dust. If it wasn't for Minato and Konoha's own mighty clans, well, the village very well might not have been standing after that.

"I... don't know what to say. I can only offer condolences. I thought I was doing something right..." The ROOT commander replied, hanging her head and resting on her walking stick, "I still do think that I did the right thing. I just didn't know the reach of the damage that I had inflicted. I thought it would make us strong... that-"

Fugaku huffed, and dashed his hand to halt the Konoha elder.

"Filth, all of it. Your 'beauty in emotion, but purity in the lack of it' nonsense tore apart my clan. It tore apart many clans- many families. You have no right to live, much less stay here. And you have no right to touch or influence my godson. Know that! I will, as long as I live, stop you from tainting him." He spat, calming down immediately after, "You made me lose composure. You always do. I should have asked and then left after I got an answer. But you- you just..."

He let the statement hang, turning around and walking towards Konoha, a frowning Danako staring at him as he walked away, until her face shifted into a grimace. Her features morphed until they were the definition of disgust.

'Always hateful, those Uchiha. It will be the death of you someday. You really should learn to forgive'

It had been six days since the Kyuubi attack, and the town had just began to repair and normalize after it. Most were still depressed, sure, but many had at least gotten over the post tragic doldrums. In fact, in the Hyuuga Compound, there was a celebration. The Head of Clan was having his first child tonight, and the entire family had gathered outside the birthing room. The Head of Clan himself, Hiashi Hyuuga, was marching under the midnight moon towards the building, having just arrived back from a meeting, with Hizashi, his brother, at his side.

"Are you excited? Elated?" Hizashi asked, chuckling, "I can never tell with you. Even when we were kids..."

Hiashi smiled lightly.

"How can one not be happy on their child's birthday." He replied, letting a light chuckle out, "And on a night like this... under the full moon..."

He frowned and stopped a moment at that. There was something off.

"Wasn't the moon full yesterday?" He asked, looking at his brother.

Hizashi stopped and pondered as well.

"It was... in fact, it's been full every night since the Kyuubi, for six days... must be from the sealings that went on." The younger brother replied dismissively, "We need to hurry, though, comon! A father should not miss their child's birth."

Hiashi sighed again, but ran on towards the room. He burst in once he arrived, letting his brother walk over to sit with the branch family members as he walked towards the room, gently opening the door.

He was greeted with heavy breathing, a very tired wife, and a nurse with a look of wonder on her face. His eyes immediately widened. What was it? Was his daughter harmed? What had...

He saw her, the nurse quickly turning towards him as he entered, and he now knew why she was scared.

His child looked somewhat normal for a Hyuuga; black hair, byakugan eyes, regal face structure. But something was off. Something big.

Her skin wasn't just pale, it was like the moon, an almost silver, eggwhite colour. She had tinges within her black tufts, soft speckles of pure crystal clear hair dotting her head like stars in a night sky. And at the front of her head, two small nubs of red, like little horns, protruded from her scalp. Even stranger, she did not cry. Gurgled, sure, but never cried. It disturbed him, all of it was off.

But most intriguingly, she had an additional eye in the middle of her forehead. He stared into it, and the purple-ish red colour of the Rinne-Sharingan greated him.

"Oh kami." The nurse said, "This is- this is unprecedented. This is- this is... a miracle!"

He took his child, holding it in his hands, almost shivering. That one eye... it was... impossible. She looked like a goddess.

"Oh child." He spoke, tears welling up in his eyes, "My precious Hinata... I know you are destined for greatness."

His smile faltered after that, turning to concern.

"But I know you are destined to an eternal struggle as well. I only hope I can guide you down this path of life until you can properly deal with the consequences."He continued, letting her grasp his thumb with her hand, "To deal with the consequences of being born with power..."

"GET THE DEMON!" A child shouted, his black hair being held back by a blue and red headband.

"""YEAH!""" His three friends shouted at once, jumping towards a blond haired boy with their weapons drawn.

"He won't escape us this time!"

The blonde just smiled, before launching off in a speed to fast for the naked eye.

"Third Certainty Aspect: Joy!" He shouted, his body being surrounded in a blue glow, "First Stage of Grief technique: Shock of Speed!"

He quickly jumped outside into the garden out back, the moon slowly rising over the Uchiha District.

"No fair! We need to trap him guys!" Another black haired child shouted, this time a girl with long bangs and a blue shirt.

That girl, was Satsuki Uchiha, and she was currently playing a game of 'Headband Tag' with her cousins and best friend, Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze.

And she was losing.

Hard.

They had lost the first three matches, before trying to team up on him, but that had resulted in three failures as well. But this round looked up for them, Natachi almost landed a hit on the blonde haired Shinigami-holder. But, the Uzumaki was simply to fast with his powers of the Death Goddess, and the crazy dojutsu that she had given him.

"Like that'll happen!" The blonde shouted as he grabbed two head bands, before bouncing for a third, "This is just too-OOF!"

The little Namikaze went down in a heap after something- or rather, someone -hit him from the side.

"I have received your headband." A purple eyed, horned girl said in a slight monotone, "I win."

She continued to straddle Naruto's back as her friend sulked below her, grumbling about being distracted until soft laughter pulled them from their thoughts.

"Oh my, you finally managed it, you beat Naruto-chan. Good job!" An Uchiha teen with long, flowing black hair and a green dress said from the doorway into the 'playhouse', as it was called, the local house where the Uchiha adults left their kids to be watched and to let them play. Tonight, it was a sleepover, and all the kids and Naruto were invited.

Hinata had blushed at the compliment, tapping her fingers together.

"Oh, it was nothing..." She mumbled, finally getting odd the blonde, who immediately rubbed his back.

"Nothing! You caught Naruto! He's Konoha's resident speed-demon!" An Uchiha child shouted.

"Yosh, Lady Hyuuga! You did fantastic!" A pink haired girl with oddly tough-looking skin said.

"N-n-no, n-n-need for c-compliments, Sakura-san." Hinata mumbled out.

"You deserve praise, oh merciful and mighty Hinata-sama!" Sakura said, "After all, I am your servant. You gave me new purpose... so I will always serve you!"

At that the Hyuuga heiress blushed even more, remembering the total accident of her 'valiant rescue.' She didn't know that using her innate nature chakra on her recently dead friend would bring her back as a half-tree, half-human hybrid that wanted to kiss her heels at every step. But so it did. And now, she had Sakura, the undying and unerringly loyal.

The teenage Uchiha, whose name was Izumi, laughed at the antics of her guests once more, before calling them in.

"Alright, kiddos, we need to-"

"AAAAAAAAH! KAMI HELP M-"

A scream pierced the air, followed by a few more. The sound of cutting and justsu rang through the building.

"Everyone inside!" Izumi called, and each of the kids ran into the building.

Izumi quickly set up the seals and locks on every entrance, intent on keeping whatever was outside, well, outside.

"What's going on?" An Uchiha asked.

"There's someone out there, someone not good." Izumi responded, peaking through the blinds into the street.

The sight greeting her was not pleasant. It was her mother, being killed by her crush, Itachi. She broke into tears at that, her face morphing into one of rage.

"How dare he do this?! Why would Itachi-kun-"

*BOOOM* Crash!

The wall, and seal, broke with one hit from the Uchiha prodigy, whose eyes widened at the sight of his love, but returning to their position after a second.

"I am sorry, Izumi. This is how it must happen. This is fate." He said, his voice monotone, "You are all simply too weak."

She gripped her katana, not willing to quit without a fight. It didn't matter though. He simply was too fast, and instantly got around her to stab her in the back.

"Fourth Certainty Aspect: Pain!" A voice shouted from behind Itachi, making him falter, "Second Stage of Grief technique: Shinigami Denial Push!"

The Uchiha heir was launched as if gravity had shifted direction, flying out into the street, bouncing twice before cratering. Naruto stood where Itachi had just been, his hand held out and braced by his other arm. Blood marred his palm, and he was out of breath. Itachi rushed him in a second, intent on knocking him out.

'He wasn't supposed to be here!' Itachi thought, growling, as he flew at the eight-year-old.

"Second Stage of Grief Technique: Shinigami Denial Slice!" Naruto shouted this time, chopping his braced hand at Itachi, and nearly bisecting the young ANBU in half.

'Shit! He means business. I better-'

Naruto launched into the air this time, hitting the Itachi's blade on the flat edge, as the ANBU had blocked at the last second. In the next second Naruto was launched to the side from one of Itachi's kicks, and the teen landed next to the kids. One head rolled as soon as the former heir landed, the boy's corpse hitting the ground a moment later.

"NOOOO! Natachi!" A girl with more blue-ish hair screeched, throwing her hands wildly and flinging ice at the murderous teen.

Itachi, though annoyed at the ice and hurt by the pain of having to kill children, marched on towards her, slicing with his katana, only being barely caught by Izumi.

"No! You will not hurt these children anymore!" She yelled, tears falling freely now, "You have taken too many lives tonigh-"

In a single move he instantly disarmed her and kicked her away, as if she was nothing. Worthless.

"Only the Uchiha must be killed. All others may leave." He said, looking at Hinata and Sakura.

"No way! I'll defend them with my life! Mokuton!" The pink haired girl said defiantly.

'Mokuton? That can't be really-'

As it turned out it was, and Itachi learned exactly why the girl before him looked so odd. Her skin wasn't skin at all, and her hair wasn't hair. Her flesh was made of wood, and atop her head there was a bunch of Sakura blossoms. At the calling of 'mokuton', her arms actually extended into the ground, before tendrils of wood shot out of it at Itachi. He leapt back, and quickly cut the tendrils to bits, struggling as more and more came.

"Shinigami Denial Push!" A voice called from his left, his head turning to face them.

'Oh, son of a b-'

*THOOM*

This push launched the boy out into the street, his feet digging into the dirt and katana buried to the mid-blade in an effort to slow his movement. Wood tendrils then shot up infront of him, and he scowled. He had had enough. His Mangekyou Sharingan were activated now.

"Amaterasu!" He shouted, burning the wood tendrils to ash in an instant with the black flames, "Tsukuyomi!"

He stared the blonde boy down, trying to put him in the powerful genjustsu. Instead, the Namikaze just stared back, his own dojutsu eyes staring down Itachi. Naruto's eyes were like small flames in two infinite abysses located in the middle of his face, terrifying Itachi, especially now that they blocked the Tsukuyomigenjutsu.

"Fifth Certainty Aspect: Decay!" Naruto yelled in return, "Third Stage of Grief technique: Angry Breath of the Death God!"

A large black smog blasted out of Naruto's mouth, headed towards his adversary. Itachi only managing to dodge it halfway. The parts of it him that touched it smoldered and burned, bubbling aggressively before blackening.

"GAH! Now you die!" Itachi said, losing his cool.

He blasted at the child, who couldn't even react, his blade coming down on Naruto's throat.

*Clang*

Another sword blocked Itachi's, and the boy instantly paled. He recognized it. The chipped blade, the simple wooden handle, the one bandaged hand on the hilt, and the woman with a bandaged eye that wielded it.

Danako and her trusty blade.

"I told you, and everyone, that attacking this child meant certain death." She said, her hair shadowing her one good eye, "Now, face your punishment, traitor!"

A fierce duel initiated after that, too fast for anyone to really follow. Sparks flew as the blades hit, not even one of the recently arrived ANBU wanted to join in, for fear of instantaneous death. Instead, they tended to the children, especially Naruto, who had collapsed from exhaustion, blood trickling from his eyes. Blocking the Tsukuyomi was tough on him.

A final clatter and a shout from Danako signaled a change in the fight. Itachi had hit her, a shallow slice across her arm, but had lost his sword in the process, and had begun running as she was distracted. He had made it too far for anyone to catch by the time the got out of their shock.

"Miss Shimura are you-" An ANBU started.

"I'm fine. What about Naruto?" She asked, sounding genuinely worried.

"He has passed out from Chakra exhaustion, and has minor bleeding of the eyes due to dojutsu release, as well as possible internal bleeding. We have an ANBU taking him to the medics as we speak." The masked soldier replied, getting a nod from Danako.

"Good then." She replied, frowning, "We surely do not need any more tragedy tonight."

"Kami knows, we don't need any more tragedy..."
