The rain. It angers you. Makes your situation all the more cliché than it has to be.

Betrayed by a lover, fight to the death in a back alley, blah, blah, blah. You sometimes wonder if the Fates will ever bore of their continuous tragedies.

Your blood is on the brick walls and the rain isn't washing it away. It's getting harder to breath and to hate him as much as you should because you're tired and want nothing more than to sleep and never wake up.

Thunder rumbles tiredly in the sky, it's dying, too. Your storm weakening steadily every time you skip a breath and your heart stops and starts--quickly coming back to life.

A cough and there's more blood on the pavement and a dim flash of lightning, the storm is trying to revive itself. trying to continue to wreak more havoc and remain terrifying, but all it can do now is cry, weep as it's fallen lord bleeds alone.

"Now what is this?" a voice smooth as silk tickles your ears and wakens you just as you were about to topple into unconsciousness.

You would growl if you could. But in your condition, you can't even manage a glare or some biting remark.

"Ginji," you feel Akabane's hand on your head, "You look positively awful."

You can only cough up a few more ounces of blood as a response.

"Sleep, Ginji," Akabane's fingers run over your eyelids, closing them, "When you wake there'll be nothing to worry about."

And there was peace. The rain stopped and the lightning quit and even the thunder was quiet as the massive storm rolled away and dissipated into nothing.
