Half Heresy
And of course every night Eliade wonders what she is doing here, walking the twisted halls of the castle she has come to call her home. Her tattered sleeves brush her creamy thighs like subtle reminders of a destiny she once vaguely considered, a destiny of dancing and endless death. But all that's been forsaken, now, hasn't it, exchanged for these days and nights of deception and snake-charming. She has become domestic. Sometimes she smiles to herself, her lips silk pillows of self-indulgence (beautiful girls can spend their hours however they choose), simultaneously showing all her teeth.
Because of course there's no use denying the presence of something darker there (loathsome, disgusting, monstrous; her insides twist at the thought of what she truly is, how heavily she wants, sometimes, to consume the soul of the fool that is her greatest conquest, her greatest loss). The form the Earl made, his knitting needles flashing like knives in the dark. Make Daddy proud...
(Forgive me Father, for I have sinned)
He has gone away again. And when he returns Eliade will whisper shadow words in his ears and gather his tears in her hands, look in his eyes and even then, try not to fall in love.
Because to love and live like this is blasphemy, a crime against her nature, against the tempestuous blood in her veins. She is no high-tower damsel, no man's lover; she is a demon, a graveyard creature, a one-woman massacre. The thought is enough to stop her dead...
Until, of course, she sees her reflection, and becomes a beautiful girl once more.
A/N: Because this pairing needs more love xD I was going to submit it to dgraycontest on LJ for week #1 - sin, but I missed the deadline. T.T Title comes from the poem "Living in Sin" by Adrienne Rich.
