Kari stood, motionless, in a digital darkness. It surrounded her in an eerie, dusky gray mist. Small pieces of lightly colored data clung to the seemingly endless walls. The world was shaped as a cylinder, and yet, one end went on forever into nothingness.

"Gatomon, I can feel it"

Gatomon stood by her friend's side.

"Kari?"

"It's not gone, somewhere, it's still out there. The greatest evil in existence…it's stronger than ever."

Someone's focus pulled out, Kari didn't know it then, but in front of a screen, someone, was watching her.

"Why are we here?"

"I don't know, I received a message, I guess…we have to be"

Tai and the others stood in this world, the one where Kari had just been. Exept, Kari had gone missing, for about six days now. It was Tai's responsibility to find her.

A figure aroused from the seeping darkness.

"Infermon," Tai gasped.

The virus' digimon's long legs outstretched in front of Tai, like a spider coming to consume his prey.

"Why are you here Infermon"

"To start a book club"

"That is so funny," Tai had a demanding look on his face, "Something is out there, and you know it"

"Yes," Infermon's voice was raspy, as it withered into their sullen surroundings.

"Then it could be a threat to us," Tai shifted his wait to his other leg.

"I could be a threat to you!" Infermon's voice echoed.

"It just doesn't make sense, I don't know how we got here, or even where we are," Tai insisted.

"Your 'rre right! And what you don't know can hurt you. All of the digimon in the past, even Apocolymon, have just been bits and pieces of what's to come."

Infermon paused for a moment, as if to give Tai some time to comprehend,

"Past digidestined have failed, and so will you Taichi"

Tai's eyes seemed to glaze over, and as the other nine digidestined watched Infermon fade into the dank walls, they knew they're leader was fading too.
