A/N- A drabble that I did a long time ago... in fact this the first fic I ever posted here... well I edited it a bit... still sucks but its a bit better.

A Love That Never Dies

Kagome ran breathlessly through the forest, in an attempt to flee her attacker. her mind was in a blur not knowing what was going on nor what would happen.

'Why is he doing this? Doesn't he know it's me?' Her mind raced in terror.

She soon spotted the sacred tree in front of her. 'I'll make it to the well, then I'll be safe.' She thought as she reached the old tree. She took a quick look behind her to see how much of a lead she had, but immediately regretted it as she tripped and fell over a raised root of the tree. As she got to her Knees, she heard foot steps behind her. She scrambled to the base of the god tree as her attacker approached her. He looked down at with blood lust in his eyes, promising her a gruesome death.

"Don't you remember me? I know you don't want to do this." She pleaded with the demon but it got her no where.He only raised his clawed hand ready to strike.

"Please..." Kagome yelled as she felt his claws meet her flesh. Pain sheared through her body, starting from her left shoulder to her upper stomach making her scream out into the empty forest. The blood started to poor from her body covering the ground and the base of the great tree. It was a sea of crimson against the dark green of the grass.

Kagome made one last effort to save herself, but it was only in failure. "I love you! Don't do this to me!"

She closed her eyes as the demon got ready to make his final blow.

"Why ...Inuyasha?" It was her last words as Inuyasha ripped apart the girl before him. She soon blacked out never to wake again.

Inuyasha woke the next morning by the well. His eyes snapped open when he smelt blood and lots of it. He was covered in it, but why? He was not injured, at least not that he could remember. Then it hit him, this wasn't his blood it was Kagome's! He knew her smell anywhere.

'What happened? Where's Kagome?' His mind raced in panic.

"Kagome!!" He screamed, but no one answered. He looked around and noticed a trail of blood leading to the god tree. He got up and ran, but stopped at the sight that met his eyes.

There lying on the ground in front of the tree was Kagome's blood soaked body. His own body began to tremble as he remembered the events of the night before.

He had been fighting a demon that had attacked Kagome. The Demon had managed to hit tessaiga out of his hands and then caused him to turn full demon. After Inuyasha had killed the demon he had gone after Kagome and ...killed her.

Inuyasha ran to her side, tears pouring uncontrollably from his face.

'How could I do this to the one I love?' His grief was slowly consuming him. Eating away at his soul.

"Please forgive me."

He picked her up in his arms and held her. What could he do, could he go on living? Could he face Sango, Miroku, and Shippo? No! He couldn't.

"I won't let you die alone." As he said this, he unsheathed his sword that he must have acquired after his brutal attack. His hands trembled through his grief and tears fell from his face.

"Kagome I love you and I'll never leave your side even in death."

And with that he thrusted Tessaiga through his chest and heart. He soon fell with Kagome in his arms. The puddle of blood grew as Inuyasha added his own.

"I'm sorry Kagome, my love." He said as he took his last breath of air.

The couple would lay their till mid day when Sango and Miroku would happen by them. They would be buried together under the shade of the god tree. Joined together forever in the peace of death.
