Contemplative

Hidan, for once, was having a moment of silence in a wooded area after a particularly hard bounty run. Kakuzu was in a hidden exchange point, leaving a bloodied Hidan to sit and think.

Hidan was gazing deeply into the sky. 'Jashin-sama? … What is my place in the world?'

'Do I have a purpose to fulfil? One you haven't named? Or have I already finished it? Am I completing it as we speak?'

'Is my place living here on the earth with these pathetic mortals-?'

Hidan glanced in the direction of Kakuzu and the exchange owners.

'Or is my place near you in your kingdom?'

'Is my work for you in vain? Do you even receive my prayers and sacrifices?'

'Is everything I do for you a waste?'

'No pleasure in sex. Love you and you alone. If you ever love or lust, even have a single thought, you must kill the one who plagues you.'

'Two precious people later, where is my enlightenment?'

'Is there enlightenment?'

"Hidan!"

The zealot paused, looking behind him to see Kakuzu with his briefcase; the miser had that gleam on his eye that meant satisfaction.

"I'm done," Kakuzu grunted.

Hidan nodded and he hopped off the rock he'd been perched on. Kakuzu waited a moment and then they were walking side by side. Kakuzu took the extremist's hand in his free one; Hidan remained silent.

'I am the wrong.'

'Scriptures says to love you and you alone yet I love this miser; three times worse, he loves the sinful riches and he is a man.'

'I'm not sorry Jashin-sama. Time has passed and I was lonely but I shouldn't have to explain myself as you have always been with me. You should know that by now, I can't follow some of your laws anymore.'

'I guess your love just wasn't enough anymore.'

'But… I love this man so much; almost as much as I used to love you.'

'I swear though, Jashin-sama, that I will follow you to the end, if only to thank you for this…'

Hidan kissed Kakuzu's cheek.

'Let this by my contract and your warning. When Kakuzu's hearts stop beating, something I'll never let happen, I will know you are against me. Then I will be against you.'

'Sorry, but that's my deal.'

"Love you Kuzu," Hidan murmured quietly.

Kakuzu glanced at him. "You okay? You seemed spaced out," he asked.

Hidan looked at him surprised, and then he smiled. "It's nothing, just thinking to myself," he replied.

"Should I be worried?" Kakuzu teased.

Hidan snorted. "No," he replied and kissed him again.

"Hm. Oh… I love you too…"

'Let the games begin, Hidan-kun…'

End.

Kinda random I guess but we all question our faith sometimes; I doubt Hidan would but eh*shrug* no flames, if you don't like it then just release you anger else where
