AN: I read a really good Thornclaw/Leafpool oneshot by Mushroom T recently and decided I liked the pairing. But it doesn't mean that Foreign is on hiatus. I just need a little break. So after this, I shall work my fingers to the bone on Chapter 3!
It was moonrise when I left camp. My favorite time of day, when each twig and leaf is bathed by moonlight. Leaf… The word alone brings images of a sweet tabby, and for a second, I imagine her fur swathed in starlight.
"Beautiful," I whisper.
I sit on a hillside overlooking the lake. Alone… all alone… I look to the stars on the black water. StarClan.
"Is it wrong to love?"
Could it be? I turn my head, so slowly, and I see her just two tail lengths from me. I see her dark pelt, glowing with the light of a thousand stars…
"It is not," I say, closing the distance between us and twining my tail with hers.
And when she looks at me, I know this is what it's like…
Together… always together…
To be loved.
