A/N: This is the bogus ending I almost posted to mess with readers of Just One of the Guys. It goes in place of chapter 40. It's dedicated to all the reviewers I promised I wouldn't kill Fred to.

Faux chapter 40

"Noooo! Fred!" Hermione charged through the crumbled wall that lay atop her boyfriend. "Fred!" she screamed her throat hoarse. Percy and Ron were through bits of wall aside until they reached Fred's limp body. "Fred, no, no." She cried throwing herself across his chest. "No, Fred, she promised, she promised me you would live."

"Hermione." Harry tugged at her, trying to loosen her hold on the dead boy. "Hermione, we have to go. We have to go now!"

"Leave me, just leave me," she moaned out. The boys pulled her away from Fred's body. "Fred! No, I can't leave him here! He needs me!"

"He's gone, Hermione, he's gone," Ron held her for a moment before pulling her away. "We have to move on."

"No! It's too soon," she sobbed, trying to stop the boys from dragging her away from her fallen boyfriend.

"He's right, Hermione," Harry added. "If we're ever going to get through this, we're going to need you."

She took a deep breath in and nodded. She spared one more glance over her shoulder before allowing the boys to herd her towards their destiny.

Epilogue

Hermione sighed as she thought one last time of what could have been with Fred, the love of her life. But the others were right, she had to move on. She rolled over to observe Ron, who lay still sleeping peacefully. She admired the ring on her finger; he could give her the life she'd always dreamed of. At least she would still be part of the Weasley family.

The end. Please review.
