"Thank you for inviting me here, Naegi-kun."

"No problem, Kirigiri-san."

Makoto Naegi was on his first date Kyoko Kirigiri at a cafe.

At first he didn't know what to do, but after being given advice by his classmates, he started to feel confident in himself.

The two of them were currently at a table, waiting to order.

"Welcome, are you two ready to order?,"

a random waitress asked them.

"Yes," they both answered in unison.

"Excellent. What will you two have?"

"I will have green tea," Kirigiri responded.

"I will also have green tea," Naegi replied.

The waitress writes down their order and tells it will be finished in a few minutes and walks towards the kitchen.

The atmosphere surrounding the two of them was awkward, so Kirigiri decided to break the silence.

"Naegi-kun, out of all the girls in our class, why choose me? Your personality makes you seem more compatible with Asahina-san or Maizono-san."

He wasn't expecting a deep question from her, especially right at the start. Naegi needed to choose his words carefully, otherwise he would end up hurting her feelings.

"Well," he started off.

"It's because I admire you Kirigiri-san, your determination inspires me and you're a very strong person," he stated.

Kirigiri analyzed his words, looking for any weak points that could be found.

"Is that truly it? I do believe there is more to your explanation than simply that."

She looked at Naegi, waiting for his answer.

"She doesn't believe me. I do think that she is a wonderful person. Kirigiri-san is a hard-working individual that doesn't give up," he thought to himself.

"My words are not covering up a lie, Kirigiri-san. I do believe you are a hard-working individual who accomplishes her assignments and despite how you act towards others, you're a kind and wonderful person who people would be happy to be friends with."

He hoped that his argument convinced her at least somewhat, if not then he was out of luck.

The young detective blushed a bit before looking away and answering.

"Well Naegi-kun, your argument seemed to be... somewhat persuasive, I will accept your answer then," she stated, still blushing a bit.

"Thank you very much, Kirigiri-san," he happily replied.

She didn't answer back, still embarrassed by his compliment from earlier.

They went back to being silence and it was a little worse this time, mainly because of Naegi.

The waitress from earlier brought them their drinks and the silence continued.

After they finished their drinks and paid for it, they exited the cafe and were walking home.

Once they arrived at Kirigirl's home, Naegi spoke up. "Umm...Kirigirl-san, this was a fun ti-"

She cut him off by kissing on the lips.

Naegi's brain might have malfunctioned, as he didn't respond right away.

She pulled back and looked at him.

"Thank you for the pleasant experience, Naegi-kun. I hope we can do this again sometime."

She began to her house and left a dumbfounded, blushing Naegi.

After spending sometime understanding what just happened, he walked home, touching his lips, trying to savor that moment.

"Kirigiri-san, I... really do love you."
