pulling pigtails
peeves & myrtle
( target of terror )
disclaimer: I do not own harry potter.
Peeves doesn't care for beauty, preferring to wreak havoc and destruction.
He doesn't care about the rest of the ghosts, save his Bloodiness, of course.
But, oh, there's something about Myrtle.
Fat, ugly, miserable, moaning, moping Myrtle.
Mustn't forget spotty.
He can break her down with a simple cackle, make her more wretched and morose than anyone else in Hogwarts and he can pull her pigtails with such vehemence that she'll shriek and wail and flood her floor with tears of grief.
There's no one quite like her; no one gives him as much pleasure to torment.
He can crush her spirit and see the effects, bide his time to watch her pick herself up again and then – and then, he can start the cycle all over again, giving the stupid Squib caretaker even more trouble.
Even if he doesn't care for beauty, there's no one quite as pretty as Myrtle storming off in despair, howling once more.
Peeves has an eye for beauty in ruin.
