"Tansy! Wait!" Little Bekka Cooper shrieked after her best friend as the two raced down Mutt Piddle lane. They were running from the Baking lady.
"C'mon Bekka! She'll catch you!" the other child replied with a giggle. Finally the girls reached their safe haven. A small corner at the end of an alley, covered by an old bed sheet. They slipped under it, and into their playplace.
"Wadda you wanna play?" Tansy asked once they were settled.
"Hmm, I dunno. What 'bout you?" the ice eyed little girl replied smiling at her friend.
"Hmm. Maybe we could pretend we were Knights! Fighting for our honor!" the little girl suggested excitedly.
"Ooh yes! And we're fighin' off Storm wings and Hurroks! Like Legendary Knights did!" Bekka replied just as excited. The girls scrambled out of their hiding spot and each grabbed a long stick.
"Hey! Maybe you could be a Lady in trouble, an i'll save ya!" Bekka suggested with a sly girlish grin.
"Okay, Bekka!" The little girl replied happily. She tossed down her 'sword' in the mud and pretended to be cornered by some unknown foul beast. She cowered in the corner opposite of their play place. Bekka came galloping up, swinging her sword/stick and growling,
"Begone, monster!" both girls giggled, as she pretended to beat the monster away from her friend.
"Oh you saved me!" Tansy mock fainted into Bekka's arms.
"Of course, Lady." Bekka replied with a smile. Suddenly Tansy leaned up and planted a soft kiss on the other girl's lips.
"Thank you!" she said with a smile. Bekka near about dropped her in the mud from shock.
"your welcome!" she replied exuberently, helping the other girl to stand on her own. Suddenly both girls were blushing. Tansy grabbed her hand and smile.
"I like you Bekka. I really like you!" She said with a dazzling smile and pulled the other child into the tent.
