Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter

Harry slowly opened his eyes; the sunlight was pounding into his face like a hammer. He realized that in his haste to sleep he had forgotten to close the curtains around his bed and now was paying for it as the sun woke him from his peaceful sleep. Groaning and turning onto his side Harry tied in vain to get back to sleep. Perfectly comfortable for the fist time in a while he simply lay in his bed looking around at the room he had spent six long and mostly happy years of his life.

After a few minutes Harry saw the door slowly open, revealing Ron and Hermione carrying what looked like breakfast for three. Sitting up Harry smiled slightly at them.

"We sort of figured you probably wouldn't want to be down there this morning.. it seems like everyone we know and everyone we don't know and their cousins are down there"

His smile grew as he realized just how right Hermione was. He really did not want to go down there and have to be the object of everyone's attention right now.

As they sat on the floor eating toast and drinking pumpkin juice Harry thought about how lucky he was to have survived the last year and how even more lucky he was that his two best fiends were still sitting there with him as well.

Later, after having finished breakfast, Hermione and Ron told Harry what they had found out before coming to him with breakfast.

" Well after we went up to talk to Dumbledore everyone began coming to claim their dead loved ones and it seemed like everyone was just going to do their own thing –"

" – but then McGonagall stood up and did that loud enhancing spell thing to her voice – "

" – Sonorus,Ron honestly we learned that in like second year! – "

" – Yeah, yeah anyway George told me she sounded pretty peeved actually – "

" – everyone had been ignoring her apparently – "

" – Yeah but what's new about that? She's a teacher for Merlin's sake! –"

At that Hermione looked at Ron with a stern look on her face while Harry cracked up.

"What?" Ron looked as though he had no idea what he had done wrong.

Harry, laughing, noticed with a smile that although throughout the conversation the two had repeatedly interrupted each other and now Hermione was looking a little displeased with on their hands had remained firmly entwined and stayed that way even through out the slight scolding Hermione proceeded to give Ron. Deciding to tune out Hermione's little lecture Harry looked away from his two best friends and out the window at the lake and grounds. Doing this he couldn't help but let his mind wander to another certain red head and the times they had spent outside together.

Hermione seeing Harry begin to zone out and stop listening to her was about to regain his attention when she saw the slight smile begin to make itself known on his face and decided to leave him alone in his daydreams .. at least for a moment. A minute later however she decided enough was enough and with a "HARRY POTTER… Are you listening to me?" she decided maybe it was a time to go see the rest of Ron's family for a bit.

Review Please

I like it as a one-shot, but what do you think? Should I make this longer at some point? O is it best alone?
