The suns gaze reflects into the room from the nearby window as the curtains flutter from the light wind. Kaidan's eyes slowly fluttered open as his whole body stretched out in the king sized double bed. One of his hands reached over to the other side of the bed, expecting to have someone else there lying beside him. A sigh escaped his dry lips as he remembered he was away from his sweetheart yet again.
Leaning to the right side of the bed he let his feet dangle as his hands rubbed his tired, blackened eyes before letting his feet take him downstairs to the kitchen. The whole apartment was in pure silence as he took a seat on the table, a cup of coffee in his hand. With his eyes closed while taking a deep breath he heard the laughter and giggles of his little girl Katherine and his little boy Ryan running around playing games. That was the kind of noise he was used to and it was that noise of hearing his children's laughter that the place was missing right now.
His mind wandered a little as he heard singing nearby. He looked around to see or pinpoint the source to soon see Katerina in the kitchen, singing away. Her soft and warming voice made him feel like he was back at her side as she sounded so beautiful.. the voice of an angel calling out a sweet little lullaby.
If this trully was a dream, his thoughts were dragging him deeper.. unable to hear the call on his omni tool coming through.
