Bring Me Candy
Charlotte stood at the door of the A group's headquarters, smiling at everyone as they entered. More accurately, smiling when they dropped a piece of candy into the bucket she was holding.
"Uh!" she blocked Noel Kahn from entering, "Where's your entry fee? One pack of candy!"
Noel grumbled, "I forgot to bring any."
Charlotte glared at him, "One candy or you can't come in!"
"Oh, come on," Noel rolled his eyes.
Charlotte continued to glare at him, "Fine, but you owe triple candy next time."
"Triple!?" Noel exclaimed, "Damn girl."
"Deal?" Charlotte grinned.
"Deal," Noel shrugged and entered the room.
Charlotte looked at the bucket of candy in her hands happily and clutched onto it tightly as she closed the door.
"Right, now that's everyone's here," she began going through the stash of candy, "Ugh. Who bought jelly beans?" she held up a packet of jelly beans.
Mona raised a hand, "I thought you liked jelly beans…"
"I do," Charlotte huffed, "But no black ones, okay? They don't taste nice," she slid them across to Mona, who opened the packet and began picking out the black ones.
"Anyway, to business!" Charlotte popped a candy in her mouth as she started setting out the latest plans to play with her favourite dolls.
"Don't we get any?" Noel pouted, watching Charlotte throw another candy in her mouth and walk around the room, still holding her candy bucket tightly.
"You didn't even bring any," Lucas whispered back, "You know what she's like."
Noel groaned, "I have to bring triple next week."
"Noel, shush!" Charlotte scolded.
"Sorry, I'm hungry," Noel complained.
"You're like a five year old," Charlotte rolled her eyes as she dug through her candy, trying to pick the next one to eat.
Mona chuckled, "Look who's talking," she said quietly.
"Fine, fine," Charlotte sucked another candy into her mouth, "Yum, yum, butterscotch, my favourite," she murmured, "You can have a jelly bean. One of those black ones in front of Mona," she pointed.
"The gross one's you didn't want?" Noel asked, "Great, thank you," he said sarcastically.
"You're interrupting the meeting!" Charlotte growled, "Just eat your jelly bean and shut up. And now you owe quadruple candy next week because you are annoying me! And nobody bring any black jelly beans or those milk bottle lollies or I'm throwing you out!"
"I still can't believe you're the new A," Mona shook her head in disbelief.
Charlotte grinned, "Well I am and you owe double candy because you bought gross black jelly beans!"
Mona dropped her face into her palm, "Can we get on with the meeting now!?"
Charlotte nodded and continued her instructions as she clung to her candy bucket, exchanging new candy pieces for empty wrappers.
