A new beginning
I hadn't thought about what to say to her at all.
And now I stand here..
When she shows her brilliant smile to me, a blush creeps up my face.
"I said yesterday that I had something to say, right?" I say these words, not looking at her face.
"Yes, what might it be?" she says, no clue as to what I'm going to say.
I hesitate for a few seconds. She gives me a curious look, her hair shifting a bit as she tilts her head.
"Um.. How do I say this.."
"Starting tomorrow morning.. Do you think us being lovers would be interesting?" I say, regretting the way I said it immediately. The blushing was worse already. Why couldn't I just say it?
"Eh?" she says. Her response to that doesn't surprise me. I turn around to her, and I look into her eyes.
"Go out with me, Nagisa." I change my sentence. Her face shows surprise.
"I love you. That's why I always want you to be with me." These last words come out naturally. That's what I meant to say all along. She gasps and clasps her hands over her mouth. Then the tears appear. Happy tears. She nods slowly and all I can do is smile.
For a few seconds we stare into each others eyes, and after what feels like eternity she leaps into my arms.
"I love you too, Okazaki-san." she says, tears falling onto my white shirt.
"Tomoya. Please call me Tomoya." I say, my voice trembling with emotion.
This might be a new beginning for the both of us. But maybe.. This new beginning had already started.
