I'd tell you the pairing, but that'd be no fun.

The color purple was Massie's favorite color. Why?
Reason 1
As Teen Vogue had stated, purple was the color of royalty. And Massie Block, whether she had royal blood or not, was without a doubt, royalty. It was the way people stepped aside when she walked by, the way people bowed down to her as if she was a queen, the way people whispered about her every move, made her royal.
Reason 2
Back in the second grade, Massie's class had been instructed to draw their dream house. Massie wanted the purple marker, because the walls of her house were begging to be filled in with the bright, cheerful color. As she had marked her territory on the purple marker, Alicia Rivera, the dorky girl with a large chest slapped her hand down on the marker. Then Dylan Marvil, the girl nicknamed "Carrot-top" marched over, stepped on Alicia's foot and snatched the marker for herself. Kristen Gregory, the only girl who had ever gone over to Briarwood to play with the boys (eww) punched Dylan and claimed the marker for herself. The other two girls did not hesitate to attack her. In the midst of all of this, the marker had flown across the room—right into the hands of Massie Block. Defeated, the three girls slunk back to their seats, all holding putrid shades of green. That was when Massie Block knew they were going to be best friends.
Reason 3
Purple looked great on Massie. It made her look slim on days she refused to step on the scale. It matched the amber orbs of her eyes, it matched the creamy tan of her skin, and it matched the glinting streaks of gold in her brown glossy hair. On the days Massie Block wore purple, she felt invincible, like the world was in place.
Reason 4
Amazing things had happened to her on days the sky was purple. When the sky was that beautiful purple, she knew it would be a great day. The sky had been that color the first day she had chose Brownie and rode her at Galwaugh Farms. The sky had been that color the day she had come home from her birthday party and her parents had given her the best present ever, a beautiful silver charm bracelet. But most of all, the sky was always purple when Massie was with him.
Reason 5
Her favorite food in the world, grapes, was purple. Each delicious juicy squish reminded her of spring, a time when riding horses felt great in the late spring afternoon air, a time when she was carefree in the closing of the nerve-wracking school year, a time when great spring collections were coming out. And no matter how many grapes she ate, she never gained a pound.
Reason 6
Massie Block would never in a million years admit the real reason purple was her favorite color.
Purple was the color of Derrick Harrington's knees on the cold winter soccer field.
Good? Bad?
I liked it…maybe a little random, but I didn't think it was terrible.
