In my dreams
He was mine
His touch so real
His kiss so soft.
In my dreams
I was his
Safe in his arms
His body next to mine.
In my dreams
We were together
My umber eyes
Gazing into his baby blues.
Until I was awoken
By the shrilling noise of my phone
And forced back into reality
Back into my loneliness.
A reality in which
He isn't mine
His touch barely there
His kiss nonexistent.
A reality in which
I'm not his
His arms don't protect me
His body belongs to another.
But I will wait patiently
For night to come
For his touch, kiss and body to come back to me
In my dreams.
