Years and Bonds
She felt that she had known them for years, like 10 maybe, rather than the maybe two and a half that she actually had. Even of that time, Nami had been separated from them all for exactly two years of it.
She guessed it was like that saying said, living in close proximity for a few weeks lets you get to know someone more than knowing them casually for a few years. Or, maybe it was more like, the saying that said you knew a person more deeply if you live with them through a dangerous situation, because their crew seemed to specialise in those.
It was odd to think that she had only know Luffy and Zoro a few months and they were the ones she had known the longest. Because when they had been separated she had missed the crew in its entirety like a missing limb. Which had not been a sensation she had even felt even at the loss of Bellemere, or her long separations from Nojiko back in her thieving days, and she had known them her remembered entire life.
It was amazing to think about all they had achieved in the short time they had known each other, both the crew as a whole and each individual and I taxed her imagination as to what they would do next. In fact, she didn't really think she wanted to imagine what their next adventure would be, she might decide to run in the opposite direction, despite her faith in her own and the crew's strength and the outcome they may achieve. She still had a healthy sense of self-preservation, despite the lengths some of her crew have gone in attempt to scare it out of her.
All that really mattered to Nami now was that that they were together again and they were looking forward to what they could do now in their third year as a crew, what they could do before they get to their tenth anniversary, to their twentieth. (Because inside herself, Nami knew their crew wouldn't really break for anyone, they would last that long.)
