A little story written for my Cornwall OC. It's an English county, with ice cream and Cornish pasties and lots of other cool things! Like seaside.
"Why can't you be nice to someone for once!? You always have to be spiteful towards everything! What is your problem with me being happy?!" Arthur yelled at an auburn haired girl, who had just insulted yet another of his partners.
"You don't get it do you?! You never understand ANYTHING! None of you do!" She turned and fled the room, tears streaming from her eyes as she rushed up the stairs to her room.
Collapsing on her bed, wiping her wet eyes, Cornwall sighed into her pillow.
"It's not fair... No one understands me. No one..." Green eyes skimmed across the room, landing on a photo frame, she was holding hands with a tall Caribbean boy, they were both smiling. They were both happy.
"Happy... Yeah right. Just friends... That's all he thought we were... Then he never talked to me again." Cornwall looked away from the picture with scorn, she knew she should have thrown it out centuries ago, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. If she threw it out now, her brothers and sister would know something was wrong. Heck, Arthur still thought she was... Friends with him.
There was a gentle knock on the door, Jenna stiffened, unsure whether to let the person in or not.
"Corny, it's me, Arthur. I'm sorry for how I acted earlier. Can I come in?" Her response was a meek 'yes'. She was closest to England than her other siblings, being nearest to him geographically, she spent more time with him. But they didn't always see eye to eye, often getting into fights.
The blond male walked into the room, sitting down on the bed next to her, as she placed her head in his lap, he gently messed with her hair.
"I can tell when you're upset, and I'm sorry I got so worked up about one little negative comment. You know I love you very much sweetheart." She hummed and closed her eyes, her brother calming her. "Do you want to tell me what's wrong or wait until your ready. Because you know, I will always be here for you."
"Why doesn't anyone like me?" Cornwall asked, shocking Britain a bit, the girl was friendly with that one Caribbean chap, wasn't she?
"Don't be silly, poppet. People do like you, and those who don't, just ignore them." He replied, hoping to have answered her question.
"How am I supposed to ignore the world?" The auburn haired female sniffed, sitting up again, wiping her eyes again. England put his arm around her, hating to see his sister like this.
"Don't say things like that. You're a wonderful person."
"Am no-"
"You are. You are a wonderful, sweet, kind, talented girl. And most importantly, you're my little sister. Nothing will ever change that, nothing ever."
"My big brother..." She hugged him back, burying her head in his shirt. England smiled softly at this act. The two of them sat there for a while, not noticing a blond sneak up into the room, whisper a quiet 'aww', and leave as soon as he entered.
