So, this is short and sweet, I just had fun writing it. Thought I'd share it. :)

It was storming outside, so it was inevitable that everyone was stuck inside the castle. This included the maurderers. James and Remus were playing wizard's chess, as Peter was sitting by the fire trying to finish a piece of Tranfiguration homework. Sirius had gone off; any indication of where was unknown, but that was Sirius now wasn't it.

Sirius was sitting in the sixth floor corridor. Right there on the floor, back against the wall, legs spread out in front of him, and Lily Evans sitting opposite of him, in the same position. He was laughing animatedly as she demonstrated her always masterful transfiguration work. She had little kitten dolls that were being manipulated to do battle against each other with kites and golf clubs. It was the most amusing thing Sirius had ever seen. Lily was amazing, no wonder James was always ogling at her. "So I just have to flick and…go like this?" Sirius asked, attempting the wand movements that would enable his borrowed kitten dolls to adhere to his every command as well.

"Yep, just like that," Lily smiled, approving of his fast learning abilities. Sirius tried it on the doll and just as Lily's had done, it began to move of its own accord and turned around to face him, waiting for a command. The fourteen year old boy smirked at the doll and then turned to Lily with the same smirk. "Oh, don't be so arrogant, that was your third try."

"Third try's a charm." He shrugged.

"Ha, Ha," Lily said dryly. Sirius's kitten had been joined by another and they found themselves in a fight, one brandishing a fishing pole, the other armed with a pencil. "My bet is on the pencil." Lily looked at Sirius who had laughed at her statement.

"That is exactly the stupid kind of thing a pedantic like you would say. You're being metaphorical aren't you?"

Now Lily started to chuckle, not at all offended by his supposed-to-be insult. "The pen is mightier than the sword," she offered. Her friend just scoffed. "Well I guess in this case it's a fishing pole, but some of it is still sharp."

"Right, right, that tiny hook part is what is going to help it win. Nothing to do with it's giantness against the pencil. Nope, you're right, it's definitely the hook." Sirius sat with his back flat against the wall, arms crossed as one of his eyebrows raised.

"Rictusempra,"Lily said calmly, her wand barely off the ground beside her. Instantly Sirius started to squirm and cringe as if he were in pain. The redhead knew he was just too insecure to allow himself to laugh out loud.

Sirius believed it too indignifying to satisfy Lily by laughing out loud.

"Say it," Lily said simply when Sirius gave her an angry look. They had been through this situation before, and each time Sirius didn't see it coming. What an idiot. Anyhow, he would not do it this time, he would not give into her evil ways, even if it made his ribs explode, he would not say it. "Oh, just say it." Lily rolled her eyes, but was still smiling benignly albeit a bit evilly as well. "Swallow your bloody pride Black."

"Haha – ne – ha – never!" He managed between strained laughter that stubbornly escaped him.

"Suit yourself," Lily shrugged, pretending to not care.
