Peter, entered the school corridor, hiding his limp with a practised stroll. Mays words echoing in his head as he slowly approached his locker. "Leave it to the Avengers or police! I don't care! as long as it isn't you!"
Usually, May would mention Spiderman but after recent events, her perspective on spiderman changed, and it is in Peters favour that she is unaware of peters double identity - considering he is now identified as a mutant.
Last nights outburst has really impacted his relationship with May after a discussion went live on television with the Avengers regarding spiderman most likely being a mutant, shocked many. With his expensive suit (stolen from Tony Stark) people had come to the conclusion that it was all spiderman's suit. This turned into the heated discussion between May and Peter when Peter attempted to defend the mutants, claiming them as people. Unfortunately, May had a fixed opinion on Mutants being power hungry, resulting in Peter threatening to become a mutant. The irony.
Not only was his relationship strained, but the Avengers were chasing after him, in this modern day and age, it has become common to turn on the tv and find another mutant has been apprehended... the government has gotten support through the Avengers and of course because the Avengers agree, so would majority of the society would support them too, but "support" is not what Peter would call it, he considers it a hunt.
His "dream" was cut short by a sharp poke on the shoulder, Ned. Ned's bright smile turned to a distorted twist of concern as he scanned his friend's features, missing a bus would be cutting it short... getting hit by the bus, seems more realistic.
"Dude are you okay?!"Ned's voice softened to a whisper, his eyes scanned Peters body for Burns, bruises, scrapes or burns. "Peter, what happened?" Ned continued to scan his friend's body, attempting to avoid any attention from Flash or anybody in the hallway for that matter. "burn mark." Peter said as he gripped his side in pain, his hand gripped tightly against his hip, his head logic with explaining the May situation, his body screamed pain, this is more important...
"Flash did this? no, he wouldn't go that far..."Peter shook his head looking into Ned's eyes and mouthing the word "Ironman", attempting to send a subtle message, expecting to receive a subtle response, instead, he got Ned's flabbergasted face, and a large bang against the locker door as Ned caught himself in shock.
earning the attention from some of the hallways, Peter retreated to class, head down. As Ned failed on the ground attempting to get up.
