MV: You say it like you didn't expect it...
KT: mutters Stupid muse
MV: Excuse me? If I recall correctly, I am -your- muse, and if -I'm- stupid, that makes you even more stupid
KT: ...how does that work... talks to self
MV: Yes, before our authoress gets herself even more confused, a disclaimer. We don't own Ragnarok the Animation, or Ragnarok for that matter. If we did, we'd be a heck of a lot more confused. Well, on with the story!
Ragnarok the Animation - Prologue
An apple was tossed carelessly into the air, spinning slightly before being caught by a merchant. Sitting and leaning back against the sturdy tree, he sent the apple spinning back into the air.
"Honestly, we don't seem to be able to get out of the forest. I want to get to the big city to do business."
A female archer looked up from where she was going through the nightly ritual of checking her bow. She smiled at the merchant before sighting along the shaft of an arrow she had placed on her crossbow.
"Really? But I want to have more time to relax and have fun."
With his eyes closed, the acolyte frowned slightly at her words.
"Yeah? But the public security everywhere is not good."
"It'll be okay," called a knight from where he was tending to his pecopeco. "I'll protect everyone if something bad happens." Stepping back from the pecopeco, the knight drew his large, double-handed broadsword to prove his point.
"You're pretty dependable," agreed the acolyte, laughing lightly.
"Our safety is in your hands," declared the merchant dramatically. "If we reach Geffen safely, I'll treat you to a glass of apple juice." As if to seal his promise, the merchant deftly caught his apple and bit into it before pausing, every muscle in his body suddenly tensed up. It seemed almost as if...
"Hey," he called nervously. "Where...is everyone? Hey, don't play games with me!"
The knight's pecopeco squawked, echoed by the screams of the other adventurers. Leaping up, the merchant grabbed his axe and looked around the forest warily, twitching at every small sound that his ears had previously tuned out. His breathing ripped harshly through the night, as he looked from side to side, a feeling of impending doom heavy upon him. A mere cracking of the branches at his back was the only warning the merchant received before an almost impossibly large, callused hand snatched his head and dragged him deeper into the forest.
"Urgh..." opening his eyes slowly, the merchant soon wished he had not. An orc loomed over him, breathing unpleasantly into his face as its face twisted into something resembling a grin. Looking away, the merchant grimaced; there were at least 7 other orcs around him. He watched helplessly as several axes came down towards him...
KT: How was it? Pretty icky for the merchant...sorry its so incredibly short. Oh, it might be good for anyone who's read this far to know that this is based directly off the anime "Ragnarok the Animation" which was...pretty bad according to reviews
MV: Hmm, yes. So we will be trying to, uh, 'novelise' it, I believe is the term.
KT: Uh huh. Hope you liked it! Till the next chapter...muaha...ambles off whistling off-tune
