You were taken by surprise.
I never saw this day coming,
But it's here in front of my eyes.
You left me here.
Left me alone with a sister,
and an unwanted mother.
You left me here.
We haven't spoken in months,
And we never will again.
You left me here.
I'm scared and full of fear,
of this place you left me in.
I don't know what to do anymore.

Wen scribbled these words on a piece of crumpled paper in front of him, then forcefully threw the table the paper was on.

They had found his dad three hours ago, face-down in a ditch. A gunshot wound to the chest was his fate, right over his heart. They had found drugs in his system. Must of been a bad dealing.

Wen couldn't breathe. Every fiber of his being was screaming, "YOU LEFT ME HERE. YOU LEFT ME."

Georgie couldn't stop crying. The more she cried, the more Wen got angry, the more Sydney quivered.

Things had fallen apart around them as soon as they got the call.
The living room was in shambles.
Windows were broken out.
Everything was broken.
Including them.

Wen lost his dad because of an evil woman.
A woman who was currently in a corner crying.
The woman who made this all happen.
Wen tried to tell his dad.
He tried.

"Just give her a chance."

The words echoed inside his head.
The words that his dad said in the truck as they talked on that day before school.
The words Wen ignored. He knew.
Now this woman was here with them.
Sharing their grief.

Fuck irony.

Wen stormed to his room, Georgie glued to his side, leaving that woman behind.

She deserved to suffer.
She deserved to suffer alone.
They didn't deserve to lose a dad.
