Taffy
"Brother, look what one of the shopkeepers gave me for you!"
Edward Elric looked up from his book to see a giant suit of armor waving a small, neatly wrapped package. His younger brother, ever since the accident that had cost Edward his right arm and left leg, and Alphonse his entire body.
"So what is it, Al?" he asked.
"Taffy!" Al all but shouted happily. "Remember when Mom used to make taffy with us when we were little?"
Ed smiled at the memory of two small boys and their mother dealing with yards and yards of sticky, stretchy candy. "Yeah, that stuff sure brings back memories." He didn't add what they were both thinking of, how their mother would never make taffy with them again.
"Well, I was taking a walk past the candy store, remembering how we used to make candy with Mom, and the shopkeeper came out and gave me some taffy and said to give it to you in thanks for fixing her mixer."
"Wow! No kidding?" Ed said excitedly, grabbing for the candy. Al handed it to him and sat down with a sigh, no doubt wishing himself able to share in the sticky treat.
Ed pulled the waxed paper off, catching the candy strings that came off with it on his not metal finger, stuffed the finger in his mouth and ate every scrap of taffy off of it. Then he proceeded to stuff the entire lump of candy into his mouth. Al laughed as his brother's face went from blissfully happy to confused to angry as the older Elric fought to regain control of his mouth from the sticky substance gluing it shut.
"That was pretty silly, Brother," Al commented as Ed poured water down his throat to chase the stickiness away.
"Shut up, it's been ages since I've had taffy." Ed curled up on the couch with the waxed paper the taffy had come in, and licked the traces of candy off the inside before falling asleep.
A/N: Based on an actual happening. Only it happened to me, I had bought the taffy fair and square, and no one was around when I accidentally glued my mouth shut with it.
