"The wheels on the bike go round and round… and round."
The night isn't dark; it can't be dark with the noise of people and commercials pushing through the thick, dark, air. The crowds stand. The buses push. Mogami Kyoko races through the streets on her bike. Her ears have gotten used to the noise, but the lights from the stores light her way through the night.
Kyoko was coming from her Bridge Rock show, which was why the cool wind through her hair was appreciated. She had wiped away sweat after wearing the costume, but the heat lingered on her skin. Of course, racing on her bike through Tokyo left her heated from exertion, but she had taken the opportunity to think about her day, slowing down to a regular pace and enjoying the breeze.
Today she had: talked with Chiori about her continuation in comedy, glimpsed Moko-san after returning from her Love Me work (and how she looked forward meeting with her next week for a proper talk!), and gotten a note from Yashiro-san that he was worried about Tsuruga-san.
Now all she had to do was look over any role proposals and get a good night's rest. The wheels bumped as she moved onto the sidewalk from a crosswalk. Kyoko's hold tightened and relaxed. She breathed out.
Her life was hectic; jumping from role to role and going to school, only then to speak to Tsuruga-san pushed at her heart. The stress could build in her body, letting out the revenge demons, or even worse, the face of a woman in love. To keep herself healthy she saw this 'alone' time in the crowded Tokyo streets as important as a balanced meal. But she felt empty.
She had plans set up for tomorrow, a-and she knew that the Okami-san and Taisho were still up working. She wasn't empty!
The feeling of being lonely was just a fluke! The heavy feeling in her heart had no place when she wasn't bothered by anything, at least at the instant.
The crowds are heavier for a mo. as cars pass beside the street. Kyoko's feet pump at the pedals.
One, two. One two. Monotonous yet pushing enough to get Kyoko onward.
Tomorrow she would be with loved ones, do what she loved, become an even better Mogami Kyoko than she could have ever imagined.
Now, in this moment, she felt lonely and down without reason. But the time would pass. She would feel like herself again soon.
The crowds were dissipating the farther she got from Tokyo's main streets. With a burst of energy, Kyoko set her sights on getting home.
