Hermione's Deepest Wish
Every day, I watch the cerulean sky,
Eagles soaring, gliding gracefully by;
Feigning rapt attention in boring old class,
Knowing I truly give a rat's ass.
People think I am bookish smart,
They never think to look deep into my heart.
Boys scorn deep my being here,
For they slink away as I draw near.
One night, not so very long ago
In a window, I looked down below,
Seeing couples snogging in the dark,
Serenading boyfriends, who were singing like a lark.
My soul cries ragged sobs at night,
Waiting in vain for that "Mr. Right."
Loneliness engulfs me most here,
And heartache remains my foremost fear.
I looked outside again, and saw a star
Twinkling in the night—light years far.
I admit I wished on that shining light,
A divine wish, with all my might.
My deepest desire is of passionate romance,
For that special, red-haired someone to give me a glance,
To see me as who I truly am, that fateful chance,
And kiss me in the moonlit night, where we will someday dance.
I love him so much, I wish for him I could wait;
I wish he would know this, before it is too late.
