There were many things I can be completely and utterly apathetic about, maybe even take a kick out of. THIS was definitely not one of them. Indeed, I cannot even fathom HOW she (Kallen of the red-hot temperance) could even utter those same words within the same sentence. It was an insult of the highest order!
"What do you mean?" I huff indignantly.
"I meant what I just said!" Her arms are placed akimbo; her very aura was scoffing at me.
"How DARE you!"
Her expression changes ever so slightly, her shock leaking through.
"Never before, in my entire centuries of existence, has anyone even DARED to say that in my face!"
"What? What do you mean centuries-"
"Many men have called me arrogant, selfish, lazy, worthless, annoying and occasionally, a whore. I am fine with those."
"Eh? So those are okay?"
I ignore her. I make sure to accentuate my every next word.
"But not one has EVER called ME HIDEOUS!"
How dare she?
Glaring at her, I ceremoniously take a dignified bite out of the slice of pizza in my hand.
