A drabble - in which Tyler and Klaus have a conversation about Caroline.

"And if my day keeps goin' this way I just might break your fucking face tonight." Limp Bizkit, 'Break Stuff'

"You can't have her, Klaus, she's mine," Tyler said, staring down the man standing in front of him. They were in the middle of the Grill and Tyler knew all eyes were on them. He'd come in to meet Caroline and saw her talking to Klaus the moment he walked in. Tyler knew shoving Klaus hadn't been the greatest idea he'd ever had, but he was angry…more than angry.

Klaus smirked and looked at the boy standing in front of him, trying his damnedest to intimidate him. But, if there was one person in this world that scared Klaus, it definitely wasn't Tyler Lockwood. "Yours? You own her now? You hear that, sweetheart - Tyler owns you." He laughed softly as he looked at Caroline and could see the struggle on her face.

Caroline didn't know what to do or say. She'd only been talking to Klaus when Tyler came in, temper flaring and fists ready to go. "Tyler…please, don't do this."

Tyler glared at her and hated himself for it instantly, but couldn't lower his guard to apologize now. "Why don't you just get the hell out of here, Klaus? Nobody wants you here."

"I'm quite comfortable where I'm at, boy, so unless you own this restaurant, too, I'm going to stay right where I am." Klaus had to give it to Tyler in some degree, though…the sire bond had been broken and Tyler was trying to show everyone he was his own person again.

"Caroline and I are meant to be together. You can't just swoop in when I leave and think she's actually going to be with you."

Klaus just smiled again, looking over and winking at Caroline. She blushed and turned away, not wanting Tyler to see.

"On the contrary, someone had to keep her company after you left her, again."

Tyler couldn't take it anymore, he shoved Klaus again and then was suddenly on his ass halfway across the bar. Klaus was standing over him, and bent low so only Tyler could hear him. "We both may be hybrids, but never forget I am an Original vampire. I would kill you now but I wouldn't want to upset her."

And then he was gone and Caroline was kneeling next to him, trying to help him up. "Tyler, are you okay?"

Tyler nodded, but felt more embarrassed than anything else. "Where is that piece of shit? I'll rip him a part."

"Just let him go."

Tyler looked at Caroline and knew what she wasn't saying. Let him go, Tyler, because he'll tear you apart.

"How could you do this to me, Caroline? I love you, and I did all of this so I could break the sire bond and be close to you again."

Caroline sighed and shook her head. "You left me, again. What was I supposed to do? Sit in my room and wait for you?"

Tyler got up and brushed her hand away when she went to touch his arm, looking around the bar for Klaus. "I have to go," he said, not even looking at her as he walked out. Klaus may be an Original but Tyler had more tricks up his sleeve than Klaus thought.
