"You know they might not ever get signed" Kurt looked over his shoulder to see the owner of the voice that had spoken to him, although he very well knew who's it was.

"When we are sixteen they will just put us into a different boarding school and from there it will just be me and you." Kurt smiled, it did sound nice, him and Blaine together, facing the world, and in only three more years. But Kurt wasn't sure; there was part of him that still wanted a family. Blaine was almost born into the orphanage, he was taken away before he could remember but Kurt hadn't been there as long, he remembered his dad brushing his hair in the morning, he remembered his mum picking out clothes for him (and him telling her that the tie did not match and the navy blue and red striped one would go much better with that blazer) he remembered the Friday night family dinners and when it all went wrong. Kurt remembered when his mum was in that crash. When his dad opened the first bottle of alcohol. When the alcohol got mixed with drugs. When his hand used to come down and leave marks and scars on him that still hurt when he pokes them today….

"Kurt?" Blaine's words made him jump slightly, an arm gently wrapped itself around Kurt's side and Blaine's head rested on his shoulder.
"You were remembering weren't you?" Blaine whispered quietly. Kurt nodded against Blaine's head taking in a shaky breath making the arms around him hold him even tighter.
"They are gone now. It's not going to happen again, I'm here." Kurt buried his face into Blaine's curls and inhaled the minty smell of his shampoo Kurt had got him for Christmas. It was great that they were both old enough to work, it meant they could buy nice things for each other and had more freedom, and less time in their gloomy rooms.
"Do you want me to go talk to Mrs. Taylor about hiding the adoption papers?"
"That would be great, thanks Blaine." Kurt handed the crumpled adoption papers Kurt had been holding to Blaine and smiled.
"I love you."
"I love you too." And with that Blaine took Kurt's hand and headed off to the office.
