"Bloody Hell!"

I pull away quickly to see Ron standing there, staring with his mouth wide open, at me and Hermione. We were in a small, dark vestibule, hidden from view, so how Ron found us I did not know. I turned and looked at Hermione, and even in the dark I could see her face turning beet red.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, crossing my arms as I walk towards Ron.

"I could ask the same thing about you two. Ugh, I'm so disgusted! I can't believe…" Ron trailed off and casting a glance to Hermione and then back to me. I took a step towards him and leaned in close to his face. "Leave, or my father will hear about this!" I whisper loudly at him.

I watch as Ron slowly turns away and I wait until he turns the corner and heads up the stairs. I walk back to Hermione. "Now, where were we?" I lift her chin up and move towards her lips but she slowly turns her head away, a grim look passing over her face. "What's wrong? Have I said something wrong?"

She looks up at me, a hurt expression on her face, her eyes filling with tears. "Why are you so cruel to my friends? I don't get it Draco, you treat everyone like filth and then you laugh about it afterwards and pretend it didn't even happen. Why?"

I stare into her beautiful eyes thinking about her question. Why do I act like this? How come I've never realized before how I'm hurting people? I start to answer but then stop. I look out into the passageway and pull away from Hermione. As I start to walk away, I turn back to her and frown. "I'm sorry," is all I can manage to say as I walk back to the common room, the tears stinging my eyes.
