This is just a random short story I wrote while trying to get my writing juices flowing, hope you enjoy this dabble!.
Big fat white flakes of snow fell around Edward, settling softly on the cold, white ground.
The crisp night air bit him lightly on his face, making him twitch his nose.
His wide golden eyes scanned the white landscape of Central, the full moon shined brightly through the clouds onto the freshly fallen snow; making it glint with a sliver light.
He felt joyous and, for once in a long time, he felt happy. A wide smile came onto his lips and he threw his arms out beside him and started spinning in circles; laughing loudly as the snow fell around him.
His crimson cloak flew out behind him with each twirl, his blonde braid bounced with each movement.
Somewhere nearby soft music played, probably from one of the shops. He closed his eyes and flopped down onto the cold snow, letting his arms fall beside him.
He opened his golden eyes and sighed with content, he stared up at the large full moon in awe.
"Well, well. Hello Fullmetal, I didn't expect to see you out here." A deep voice spoke above him, he knew that voice from anywhere. Roy Mustang.
He pushed himself up from the ground and propped himself up on one elbow. All happiness left him. "What do you want?" He hissed and pushed himself fully off the ground and stood on shaky legs.
"I was on my way home and I noticed your red coat, figured it must be you. I wondered why you were laying in the snow, I thought you might be hurt, so I decided to make sure you're okay. So, are you?" Roy asked at last, his onyx eyes settled onto Edward's golden ones.
"Why would you care?." He snarled with distaste, he tucked his hands into his coat pocket and lowered his head.
"Because I just do, okay?. Now, answer my question." Roy demanded with a soft tone, his eyes held a kind gaze to them.
"Yeah I'm fine, just enjoying the snow for once. I don't care if it'll hurt my automail later, I just wanted to have a bit of fun." He sighed, automail can hurt pretty badly...
Roy took pity on the young teen, having to have automail and work for the military as well; that wasn't any life for a boy.
"So you want to have fun, is that it?" Roy smirked and cocked his head slightly to the side, his short black hair fell around his face.
"Well, yeah.." Edward responded, his golden eyes held a sort of sadness to them that would make any man willing to look into their depths want to cry.
"Alright then." Roy slowly bent down, earning him a curious glance from Edward, and he picked up a handful of snow.
He balled it tightly and threw it right into the boy's face, it slowly slid down and fell to the ground with a plop.
"You're gonna regret you ever did that, old man!" Edward bent down and scooped up a handful then balled it, he grinned evilly to Roy.
Roy dodged the throw and ran; he picked up a handful of snow as he ran and threw it at Edward, once again landing in his face.
"Having a hard time hitting me, shorty?" Roy taunted with a smirk, he was standing a ways from Edward.
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING SHORT!?" Edward glared at him then clapped his hands and slammed them onto the snowy ground.
A small smile appeared on Edward's face as he saw the look Roy was giving him.
The blue light of alchemy entered the ground and started speeding towards Roy; he was running as fast as he could but he couldn't out run the mountain of snow coming his way.
With a loud boom, Edward rose from the ground and brushed himself off, he grinned as he looked at Roy's head sticking out of a large snow pile.
He strolled up to it and rested his hands on his hips. "Never call me short." With that, he turned and walked away; ignoring the shouts of help Roy was screaming.
