No matter how much Severus hated it, it was what Lily wanted. Severus absolutely loved Lily and did want to marry her, but not on the beach.
Severus stood in the sand, Dumbledore was there holding a muggle's book. Dumbledore was looking pleased as the water swayed behind him. Severus was fidgety, waiting for Lily.
"Oh, Tunney! Did you ever imagine that I was going to marry him?" Although they hated each other as kids, Petunia was over that now.
"Actually, I figured you would."
"Really?" Lily tilted her head sideways so her sister could zip the sundress without getting hair caught in it.
"Well of course! You two nearly spent your lives together as children!" Lily shrugged in agreement.
"Good point."
"Severus…" Severus turned to look at Dumbledore. "Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Severus was utterly shocked.
"What are you saying? I shouldn't marry her?" Dumbledore wasn't exactly… happy?
"No, I'm just saying, are you ready to go through with this?" Severus nodded.
"It was a good idea for me to get away from the dark arts, and I think it was good for me to stay away from you-know-who. I know I love Lily, I know I want to marry her."
"If you say so Severus." Dumbledore said quietly.
"Lily, are you almost ready?" Lily turned to see Remus.
"Yes, have everyone get ready and have Severus know I'm coming."
"Alright,"
"Remy," Remus turned to look at Lily. She ran over to him and hugged him. "I know you're still trying to get over James' death, I want you to remember, he's in a better place now than before."
Remus smiled. "Don't worry; I won't ruin your big day." Lily laughed.
"Go tell them." They exchanged on last smile before he left. Then she turned to Petunia. "Tunney, I'm really happy you're here." The sister hugged.
"I'll go get my seat."
"Could you grab Remus again? I kinda forgot to ask him something." Lily let a nervous laugh come out.
"Of course, I'll see you there!" Right before Petunia closed the door, she spoke up. "Um… Lily?" She raised her eyebrows as a reply. "You look wonderful." Petunia and Lily smiled, and then she left.
Severus stood awkwardly in front of his mum, Sirius, Remus, Dumbledore, and a few more people.
He saw Petunia run up to Remus, whisper something in his ear, then sit down. Remus quickly stood up and ran to the back.
"What do you think he's doing?" Severus whispered to Dumbledore.
"He's bringing her down the aisle." He whispered back. "She doesn't have anyone, you know that."
Suddenly everything went silent. Remus came back with Lily clutching his arm.
Severus' heart started to pound faster than usual. Lily was wearing a white sundress that had light yellow and pink on it, but it was hardly noticeable. Her hair was down and her veil only covered her face, unlike some that cover their whole heads.
Once Lily was by his side, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. Lily felt to do the same.
Dumbledore did all of the marriage things, which went by faster then most do.
"You may now kiss the bride." Severus couldn't help but wrap his arms around her waist and pull her into a long kiss.
Claps rang through their ears. All her wanted was right there with him. But he still asked himself… "Was this actually happening?"
