For you. Because you're reading it.

The small, thin woman sat there, staring out of the small window. The moon shone through and hit her so that she was now a silvery-grey colour.

An odd colour. An odd time to be staring out of the window when all you could see was darkness and moonlight.

Silver and black. Black and silver.

Fox and Cat. Cat and Fox.

As she sat so still on her small chair by the small window in the small room, big thoughts flooded back.

Memories. Bitter memories. Happy memories.

Bitter and Happy. Happy and Bitter.

Which one?

She didn't move, didn't speak as the door opened and a sigh erupted from behind her. The person at the door moved forward and spoke softly.

"Why are you not in bed?"

The woman ignored the question and continued to stare.

"I'm not mad." She whispered, her breath making the window cloud up so it was harder for her to see- but she merely wiped it and continued to speak.

"I'm not mad." She repeated softly.

"I never said you were-

"-You didn't need to. I'm not stupid."

"Love, I merely-

"- I don't need help, either. I ran away to look for my love, to find him. It's not madness, it's normal. Sometimes…sometimes I think that I would rather die than be separated from him."

"What are you saying, girl? This is all nonsense!"

"It's not nonsense."

"It is nonsense if you wish to kill yourself for this- for this mere boy." The figure crossed the room and shook her slightly to get her to turn and look at him. "This is all nonsense! Where has your sense gone? Running away? to find him? I banished him- and he shall stay away. You will go and marry who I choose."

"I will marry in whom I choose." She turned her head slightly. "That is what our religion says- women get rights, uncle. I want my rights back."

"Our religion also forbids you to marry someone other than a Muslim, silly girl!"

"Silly girl?" she raised to stand and face him. "Silly girl?"

"I didn't mean it-

"-you've meant it your entire life. Because I've never been the girl you wanted me to be. I've grown uncle- I'm a woman. I'm a woman who knows what she wants."

"You're a woman that is confused, brainwashed-

"-Maybe so."

She had merely turned back to the window- kept staring for hours and hours. Then, finally, she smiled.

You want to know why she was staring out of the window?

Will Scarlett had come to get her.

Love and War. War and Love.

Madness and Confusion. Confusion and madness.

Will and Djaq. Djaq and Will.
