A/N: A drabble+1... what do you call that? Anyway, this is the dedication to Fakir's magnum opus-his sequel to his ancestor Drosselmeyer's story The Prince and the Raven, entitled The Two Princesses.
To Drosselmeyer, My Ancestor
You have always been my worst enemy.
Across generations, you reached out to take everything from me.
Everything I hold dear.
You told me I was useless, and I believed you.
Yet I must thank you.
Were it not for you—for your blood in my veins—I would be dead.
Or worse.
Were it not for you, I would be useless.
Your writing hand took away my life and then allowed me to take it back.
And so I am eternally grateful to you.
Thank you.
But I will never love you.
And I will never forgive you.
