So today in chemistry my friends and I were talking about fandoms and slash pairings, and I was inspired to write this. It's short, only 389 words but eh.

Warning- Mentions of slash

Disclaimer- I don't nor will I ever own Harry Potter

The thing about observing people is you realize things about people that others might not notice or understand. Their behavior, habits, crushes, favorites, things of that nature, and it's almost like spying, except it isn't because it's out there for the world to see. Most people don't realize what they are doing, which is why I find it so fascinating. You learn things a person wouldn't otherwise tell you.

One of my favorite past times was watching Harry and Draco's feelings towards each other. Being one of Harry's best friends, it really wasn't difficult, but that doesn't mean it was easy either. I watched as their relationship turned from hatred, to one that wasn't as. Someone not as experienced as I might not have realized that there was a difference at all; they might not have realized that their presumed 'hatred' was shame for liking one another. Someone who is just as experienced as I am, but do not know them as well as I (or at least one of them as well as I. Truth be told, I still barely know Draco.) might say it was sexual tension, and in a way it really was. But it wasn't. (Does that make sense? No? Well who cares about your opinion, I'm the expert.) The point is I was there when their relationship changed from hatred to not-quite-love, and since then, even now when we are grown up, I have analyzed the way they act around each other. Their secret looks of hope and want when they think that nobody is watching.

For years now I have wondered what happened between the two of them. After the Battle of Hogwarts, I thought for sure that they would get together, because in all truth they no longer had an excuse to not get the ending they wanted. I guess I had missed an important variable in my observations though. Ginny. I didn't actually think that Harry would choose her over Draco, but I guess that's what happens. It is life, and it isn't fair; some people don't believe they deserve happy endings, and Draco and Harry are two of them. Sure, they will always be content with their lives with Ginny and Astoria respectively, but without each other they will never be truly happy.

So this will not be continued unless I'm struck with the inspiration to continue this. It popped into my mind as a short one-shot and that's exactly how it'll stay. I'm surprised really, it turned out better than I thought it would, and I really liked the ending.

That being said, I'm modding a facebook roleplay and we're still looking for people to play characters. It's a next generation roleplay, and if you want more information go to anotherwarbegins . weebly . com (Remove spaces.)
