Sirius Black was drunk. Drunk and in some muggle bar god knows how far from number 12, Grimauld Place. Best of all, he was alone. Well, if you dont count the other patrons of the bar, which were surprisingly numerous considering the early hour.

"Well, I guess i finally had enough, didn't I? Left me that god-awful house and those god-awful pure blood snobs behind with it!" He slurred to nobody in particular.

"Hey there, Hot Stuff. You look like you need another drink." A redhead waitress purred as she slid up next to him.

Red hair. Shouldn't that be familiar? Oh yeah, Lily. He wondered if James had had any luck with her over the summer. Waitaminute. Hadn't James said that Sirius would always be welcome at his house?

"No, you filthy wench! I've had too many as it is!" with that Sirius staggered out of the bar and signaled the Knight bus. He told the man to take him to Godric's hollow then passed out on one of the beds.

When he arrived at Godric's hollow he walked around trying to remember James's address. when he found Potter Manor he knocked, rang the doorbell and, upon remembering he was a wizard, found James's window and begin levitating pine cones onto his face. James finally awoke with a startled "Whosthere?"

Sirius yelled "Prongs, mate! Let a fellow in out of the cold!"

James came down and opened the door, muttering a stream of curses all the way.

He said "Come in. You better have a good reason for waking me."

Sirius replied "Well, it all started when my dear mother noticed the Gryffindor banners had a permanent sticking charm on them..."
