The Warmth of a Snowflake
A/N: First fanfic. Woow. This is gonna suck, but I'll do my best! Enjoy!
Disclaimer: Why would I write a fictional story about this pairing if I owned UTAU? I would make it happen if I did!
CHAPTER ONE – P.O.V. YUFU SEKKA
As I walked on the crowded sidewalk with two grocery bags full of ice cream in my hand, I watched small sighs escape peoples' lips and turn into puffy white clouds of air. I looked at all the different kinds of people around me, not necessarily paying attention to where I was going. There were children holding hands with adults, shivering people running into stores, and a few homeless every now and then. I had always felt bad for the homeless, but that was not the time to think of them. I had to deliver the ice cream to my neighbor as I'd promised.
Just as I turned the corner to begin to walk on my street, I ran into something. Or rather someone. The two bags tumbled out of my arms, along with their contents. "G-gomenasai!" I exclaimed in cold winter morning air. The tall figure I bumped into just stood there as I knelt down to pick up the ice cream. I heard a sigh, and a hand reached down and picked up the last container for me.
"Since when does Yufu Sekka eat Dutch chocolate ice cream?" the tall figure asked in a quiet yet cold voice. Only then did I realize that it was my other neighbor, Matsudappoiyo, better known as Poiyo. I looked up at his face, his sharp features and sky blue hair. I'd known Poiyo for long enough to know how to handle his way of getting along with people.
"If I'd known you'd be so jealous, I would have bought you some, Poiyo," I replied, teasing. "Besides, it's not for me. It's for Kaito. He asked me to buy some earlier." Poiyo sneered at the mention of Kaito. He sneered when I mentioned anybody. I wondered if he'd done the same when people brought up me.
We stood in silence for a moment, each of us staring at the ice cream. Just when the silence seemed to be getting lengthy, I looked up to meet his red eyes. They were softer than his voice. Behind them, I could see kindness. I quickly turned my focus towards something else. The puff of his breath—no, that was still looking at his face. The sign that read the name of the road my apartment complex was on.
The ice cream in his hand.
A wave of realization came over me and I snatched the ice cream out of his hand, dropping it in the bag and taking off towards to complex. I didn't look back, only shouted. "Running late! Sorry!" I half stumbled, half ran up the steps of the large building and into the automatics doors.
P.O.V. MATSUDAPPOIYO/POIYO
I listened as the faint echo of Yufu's last words before she'd left slowly faded away. I felt the blush that I'd been so worried she'd seen fade away along with it. Our eyes had met. She knew I had been staring at her. I was supposed to hide my emotions; I'd always been able to, why not now. I hadn't been called a kuudere for no reason. It was just that, this morning, she'd looked so delicate and fragile. Like a snowflake.
A falling snowflake.
Thank you very much! More chapters to come if people like it. And Elijah, this is not a crack pairing xD
