After yet another hard day of helping Professor Oak, Zach sat down and started to watch T.V. Zach loved this time of year, for it was the time of the Pokemon League Championships. Zach closed his eyes and began to daydream. He saw himself and his Charizard, who had been his pal since birth. He imagined them battling many different people, and beating most of them. His daydreaming was cut short when a voice called out behind him.
"Watching the Championships again are you, Zach?" Zach turned around, it was the Professor.
"Yea, I just love to watch people battle."
"Why don't you battle with people yourself?" the professor asked. "You have Charizard, why don't you battle? The only time I've ever seen you battle, other than when you were protecting yourself, was with that one battle with that woman five years ago. You seemed to enjoy it."
Zach remembered that battle, for it had been his first, and so far only, real battle. He was only ten years old at the time. This one woman, Zach couldn't quite remember her name, she was a trainer from the Sinnoh region, and apparently very important too. They had a one on one battle his Charizard versus her Garchomp. It was very close. So close, in fact, Charizard's Blaze activated. They then beat her Garchomp with a Blaze-powered flamethrower.
"There aren't many trainers here in Pallet Town, Professor."
"Then maybe you should go out of Pallet Town. You know explore the world, meet many trainers and pokemon." The professor said. This caught Zach off guard. He didn't know what to say. At last he finally spoke.
"You mean go out on my own?" Zach asked, disbelievingly.
"Well, you wouldn't be by yourself you have Charizard." The professor said. "I think it will be good for you to go out and explore all of Kanto, its trainers, and its pokemon."
Only one thought went through Zach's mind at that moment: Should I do it?
