This is what happens when my boyfriend leaves me all alone in a McDonalds while he's at work. I write.
So here's a story loosely based off of real happenings.
Enjoy it, and yeah whatever, I don't own Naruto.
Sakura sighed as she flicked the locks closed on her clarinet case. Another concert gone well and she didn't even pass out during her solo. She was definitely getting somewhere.
"What a way to end the year, huh Saks?" her loud blonde friend had approached. His whisker like birthmarks scrunched as he gave her a goofy grin. He was just a little shorter than her, wearing the same black slacks and black button up shirt for their concert attire.
Sakura gave him a meek smile. "Yeah," she replied as they started walking back to the auditorium where the event was held, "I'm still in shock that this is our last concert with this band… I mean next year we'll be in high school and some people will quit and it's all just too sad, you know?"
Naruto frowned a bit. "Yeah I-"
"Naruto! I'm so proud of you honey!" a woman with bright red hair came running up to the two, covering her son in kisses. His dad, who was really just an older version of the loudmouth himself chuckled and greeted the pink haired girl.
"Ah, and Sakura! Your solo was so pretty, I'm sure your parents are so proud of you!" the woman hugged her softly. Sakura's smiled faltered a bit, before replying with a polite nod. "Yeah, I should really be seeing them. It was good to see you guys again" she answered before walking away slowly. The small family had left after that, Kushina and her husband praising their son as they walked out of the metal gym doors.
Sakura smiled sadly turning around to see a janitor taking down the sign that read "Konoha Middle School Honor Band". Puffing out her cheeks, she turned briskly to start her long walk home.
However she was stopped by a boy with black hair holding a single red rose out to her. Suddenly, the weight on her shoulders had been lifted as she took hold of the flower. 'Sasuke-kun, you made it" she said happily.
"Well yeah, it's not every day your best friend gets into an honor band you know?"
"Oh stop acting like it's a big deal. It wasn't too difficult to get in."
"Will you just let me compliment you? You auditioned, you made it in, you're better than every kid in the district. You got first chair which I'm assuming is kind of a big deal." He rolled his black eyes.
Sakura blushed a bit, "Thanks," she smiled.
He smirked before grabbing her clarinet case from her hand. "So, you ready?"
"Huh?" Sakura cocked her eyebrow.
"Well I'm not gonna let you walk home alone. It's dark out." He replied like it was obvious.
Sakura smiled even more, nodding as she began walking.
After a few minutes of walking outside they passed the high school and the pinkette paused in front of its gates. Sasuke looked back to her, cocking his head to the side and question what was wrong, panicking when he found tears forming in her jade eyes.
"What's wrong?"
Sakura sighed sadly, "It's just… what if we get to high school… and everything changes. What if we aren't friends anymore? What if you forget about me? I mean I know you wanna join the football team and-" she started hyperventilating.
Sasuke interrupted her, grabbing her small pale hand. "Sakura, I promise. No matter what, I will never ever, ever, forget about you. We might spend less time together but never will I forget you."
"Promise?"
"I promise, besides, who can forget a pretty girl with pink hair?" he joked. "Come on, let's get you home."
And they walked away, hand in hand.
