DISCLAIMER: I do not own Black Bullet
Enjoy!
Shougen and Kayo had split up to find a lead on a Gastrea that had appeared and then disappeared around the area, the two of them going around to question possible witnesses. Shougen was walking down the street, grabbing people at random, but he wasn't getting anywhere. No matter how many people he questioned, they were all clueless imbeciles! At this rate, another civil officer was going to steal his kill! Just as he thought that, he grabbed another random bystander in his anger. This time, he finally got somewhat of a lead.
That lead, however, was just to go question a less random person.
Walking into the toy store, of all things, Shougen walked up to the clerk, showing his civil officer's ID to get her cooperation. After questioning her, he finally had a lead to go on, though it wasn't much. After he met up with Kayo, they could piece together what they got and go from there. Just as he was about to leave, though, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. It was a large stuffed animal, a blue dolphin. Upon seeing it, he immediately thought of Kayo, because in his mind Dolphin equals Kayo, Kayo equals Dolphin.
Shougen snorted and turned away, starting to walk out. He wasn't even going to consider the idea...
Several minutes later, Shougen walked up to the meeting spot they had agreed on. Kayo was already there, waiting on him. "Shou-" She began, only to be cut off when he threw her a bag. She caught it with ease, a puzzled expression on her face. Looking into the bag, she pulled out a big, blue, and stuffed dolphin. She looked back up at him, even more confused, but he just walked past her.
"Let's go." Shougen told her.
Kayo hugged the dolphin against her; and, moving quickly, she took her place by his side. "Thank you."
"Whatever." He muttered.
She just smiled.
That night, back at their apartment, after they had finished their meal, Kayo went and got one of Shougen's spare bandannas. As he exercised, she placed it around the dolphin, and then held it up for him to see. He stopped in mid exercise and just looked at her. She smiled at him as she then hugged the dolphin, holding it close.
It was her first and only gift from Shougen... and she'd make sure to treasure it.
