Chapter One: Halloweentown's Innocent

" Are you sure you being innocent is the right word?" asked Night Skellington. Melissa Marie held a water balloon over the two-faced Mayor's head.

" Aw, come on," said Melissa Marie," everyone does something bad every once in a while, and besides I don't do anything horrible." Night had to agree with her. Melissa Marie doesn't do anything bad really. The on;y reason why Melissa Marie was doing this

somebody dared her to. Melissa Marie always helped around Halloweentown. She helps put up decorations and she also helps the Clown with the Tearaway Face find the key to the Main Gate. She is a kind girl, but she takes dares seriously.Melissa Marie closed her eyes and dropped the balloon. The balloon landed right on top of the Mayor's head! Night couldn't help but laugh. Melissa Marie opened her eyes and gasped. Jack Skellington was standing next to the Mayor! Before he could look up, Melissa Marie clapped her hand over Night's mouth and ran off the roof of Town Hall.

They ran into the attic and sat down. Melissa Marie removed her hand off Night's mouth.

" What was that for?!" asked Night.

" Your Dad was right next to the Mayor you idiot! I can't believe I did that! I HATE Michael Wrath!"

Night agreed with her. Michael Wrath was thier school's infamous bully. He teased and mocked every student exept the popular. Michael was the one who dared Melissa Marie to drop the balloon on the Mayor's head in the first place. Melissa marie brushed her short brown hair put of her eyes.

The attic door opened and Night and Melissa Marie jumped,

" Michael Wrath" said Melissa Marie.

Michael Wrath had shoulder length black hair. He had black-brownish eyes. He was wearing a black t-shirt and brown pants.

" Hello Melissa Marie. I see your not a chicken afterall."

Melissa Marie stood up and slapped him.

" I. Hate. You." she said, come on Night, lets go."

Melissa Marie took a step towards the door. Michael wrath raised his fist to punch her.

" No you don't!" said Night.

He quickly stepped between Melissa Marie and Michael. He blocked the attack with a kick. The force sent Michael towards the floor. Michael was shocked and Melissa Marie had the thank-you expression.

" Thanks Night." she said.

" Your welcome. Come on, lets go before the idiot trys anything again."
