Hello all! This is the first in hopefully a large collection of one-shots and possibly two shot stories, with a smattering of song-fics mixed in.
This particular one takes place in the earlier seasons when Hodgins and Angela were not dating. The song is 'Collide' by Howie Day. Copy-righted things belong to their respective owners.

It was almost midnight on Valentine's Day and Hodgins was still running tests on a tricky set of particulates that were found that their latest crime scene. He was half-asleep at his desk waiting for the mass-spec to finnish. He shifted in his chair; it was uncomfortable for sitting in for long stretches of time. Especially late at night when he should have been sleeping.
Hodgins was alone again on Valentine's Day, like most holidays. Although it seemed to others that he had many relationships, he was actually a very lonely man.
Jack's most recent girlfriend had just dumped him a few days ago, but he didn't care. He didn't really like her all that much.
The computer beeped signalling that the test was finished. The results flashed across the screen; hydrochloride and triglycerides were present on the clothing remnants and some sedimentary rock was found on site. Interesting, Hodgins thought.
He emailed the results to Cam, then he started packing his things up to he could finally go home. Hodgins was about to exit through the sliding glass doors when he heard singing coming from one of the offices in the lab.
"I'm open you're closed," A beautiful voice sang, "I'll follow you'll go..."
Hodgins was instantly curious about who the voice belonged to, so he followed the music. Jack followed the sound right into Angela's office. She was here on Valentine's Day too. Alone.
"I worry I won't see your face... Light up again!" She was lying on her couch singing along to the song. "Even the best fall down sometimes! Even the wrong words seem to rhyme! Out of the doubt that fills my mind. I somehow find, you and I collide!" By that phrase he recognized the song and decided to make his presence known.
"I'm quiet, you know," he sang loud enough for Angela to hear him. She paused her own singing to look at him in a puzzled way, but when she saw his sincere smile, her suspicious expression vanished and was replaced with a smile of her own. Hodgins continued to sing in his slightly off-key way, "You make a first impression."
And when Angela joined him for the next verse, Hodgins knew he was right coming in. Angela sang, "I found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind!"
"Even the best fall down sometimes! Even the stars refuse to shine!" They harmonized, "Out of the back you fall in time! I somehow find, you and I collide!"
That is how Dr. Jack Hodgins and Angela Montenegro spent their Valentine's Day. Not going on meaningless dates and sleeping with people they have no connection with, but singing and harmonizing together. And they could not have been happier.
The End.
