Ally stares into the mirror watching her reflection as she shifts from foot to foot. She just wishes that the image would change by doing so. Ally Dawson was never a confident person, she always hated her image. She just wanted the girl in the mirror to be prettier, more athletic, smarter. Everything she wasn't. Sure she had great friends that supported her and her decisions, but she felt they never told her the truth. When she would ask if she was pretty they would say she was beautiful. She never believed it, she wasn't pretty like Kira or Cassidy. She was dorky looking. At least that's how everyone at school described her.

She nervously pulls at the hem of her new outfit. Hoping that if maybe just maybe she dressed differently she wouldn't be so ugly. The bright pink mini skirt seemed to be shorter than she originally thought. The began to panic, what if her black tank top didn't match. What if her skirt was to short. All the different possibilities of what could be wrong swirled through her head. Soon she was staring into the mirror making her own little world.

A world where Austin was with her. He stood up for her and gave her courage. A place where she would be excepted by everyone. She could be herself, she would be a better version of herself. She pictured Austin walking in the door behind her. Hugging her tightly from behind. Her smiling at the tiny ways he showed his love for her.

As she shifted again she remembered it was all fake. She wasn't dating Austin they were just friends. Everything that she saw was just her imagination. She wished it would be true one day, but deep down she knew that it wasn't possible. He like the pretty girls like Kira or Cassidy. He only saw Ally as a friend. She was always hiding her feelings for him. If he ever found out it would ruin their friendship and maybe even his music career. She would never let that happen, she couldn't put him through that.

So Ally grabs her leather jacket, slips into it then slides into her pink pumps. She grabs her purse puts a fake smile on her face and walks out the door. She walks towards the mall to meet her friends. The closer she gets the more she pushes the feeling for her blonde haired friend down to the unknown depths of her heart.

As she enters the mall food court with her brave smile in her face she sees Austin and Cassidy kissing. Her smile fades and the feelings emerge. Soon tears are pouring down her face. Smearing her carefully applied makeup. She walks away without looking back. He didn't even tell her Cassidy was back and that's what hurt her the most. She walks into her house slamming the front door behind her. She stomps up to her room and flops down on her bed. Occasionally reaching over to grab a tissue and wipe away some of the tears. She just can't help herself. He meant so much to her. Yet, she would never be with him. There was always some one that was prettier. Some one that would be better than her in so many ways.

She decides she has had enough of the painful experience. She washes her face. Puts on new makeup. Making sure it is darker and better than before. She trades her tank top for her back crop top. She doesn't even put the jacket back on. She is done layering her clothes. It was a way for her to feel safe. She is new and improved. She once again grabs her purse and strides out the door. She walks straight up to Austin and taps his shoulder, interrupting his make out session.

"Your supposed to be helping me write a new song not kissing that blonde bitch." Ally practically growls.

"Sorry I forgot and Cassidy is not a bitch. I think you might be though." His words echo through her ears. That image from earlier shattering at his words. That is absolutely never happening now.

"Fine since I'm a bitch I think I will act like one. Go find yourself a new song writer. I'm done with your fucking shit. I quit."

" but-" his words are dismissed as she struts away.
