Chapter 1: Introduction
"Good afternoon, how may I help you?"
Ruby walked pushed her front door open to her small trading post, a basket filled with ripe and juicy Oran Berries gently swayed by her side. Her cute, pink apron hugged her sides, holding the basket full of berries by her. Ruby smiled gently when the wind hit her face, the sun was shining brightly, clouds were floating in the sky, and the air was clean and fresh. Her eyes adjusted and saw a brown and green right in front of her face.
"Hello, I'm here to pick up an order for Team Serenity"
The blob of green and brown cleared up and a Skiddo was in front of me. white face with a brown blaze going down its muzzle. She has blaze ends at a round, black nose, and she has black, elliptical eyes. Ruby looked a little closer and saw she had a badge on, it looked like a bird perched on a branch.
"Ah yes, you must be Milky." Ruby smiled at her "I have the berries with me right now actually, sorry you had to come all the way out here, it's such a long walk." she looked down, shifting her body looking uncomfortable with another person and also feeling bad that she had to come all the way down here.
The village where most of the pokemon around here live is about 4 miles away from my cottage. The village is called Fajirokon, Ruby's ancestors first settled here thousands of years ago, it's sort of in the middle of nowhere, but also somewhat near Kanawa town in the Unova Region.
"Oh, it's no trouble at all! No need to apologize, I was just doing my stretches then headed out here." The Skiddo said, yawning and stretching out her legs out more.
"Well here you go,"
Ruby crouched down, slipping underneath the baskets, making it land on the ground in front of Milky. The large Oran Berries shimmered under the sunlight, just looking at them made Milky's mouth water. They were gigantic! No wonder FuzzyBerries were very popular in the Team Serenity.
"Thank you so much, I better get going now or Cerulean will start whining about the lack of food" Milky giggled, equipping the fruit baskets onto her back. Ruby laughed with her, looking over with pink cheeks
"Have a good day… um oh and here's your receipt" She handed the receipt to her, her paw a little shaky, Ruby's paws have always been shaky ever since she was a small and had only one tail.
The Skiddo took the receipt and smiled, turning her body and walking off down the path, taking the Oran Berries with her. Ruby sighed in relief, she always felt so uncomfortable around people she never met, that's why it's a little hard to run a Trading Post. Everytime she tries to talk to some complete stranger she freezes up and sometimes babble when all they want are their order of Oran Berries. Ruby sighed and locked the door to her trading post, it was time to go home. She started walking down her path, hearing the soft breeze of the wind making the leaves rustle made her mind calm down, the smell of flowers always soothed her as she walked to her house.
"Home sweet home" Ruby said, looking at her small cottage.
It was an ordinary and small one, it was made out of wood but she made her own little touch by installing a heart window on the top floor in the face of the house, also painting it pink so it was a little unique and her style. Ruby smiled while looking at her on small cottage, it was nice living alone so no one really bothered you much. Right when she opened the door she smelled a familiar scent, a scent of a Poochyena, the smell of fresh grass. She knew who it was immediately
"Oh, hallo!"
She looked over on my couch and saw it was my friend Diego. He was just an average Poochyena, same physical features except he was more skinnier than most, but he makes up for it in combat. Ruby and Diego always fought against each other in battles, but he always managed to one up her and win. She saw he was just lying on the couch comfortably like this was his own house, munching on a Pecha Berry and giving me these large yellow brown eyes, his tail was wagging excitingly. Ruby was a little surprised, the only time he sees Diego was at town.
"Oh hey. What are you doing here Diego?" She asked, her shyness coming back a little, making it hard for her to look him in the eye.
They were friends but she couldn't help but feel shy around him. They've known each other since they were babies but they never talked until now. She always wondered why he started talking to her in training class but she didn't question it too much, she was just glad they were friends.
"I was going to surprise you and give you these Pecha Berries," they both looked at the basket on the ground and saw large Pecha Berries in the basket "I hope you don't mind that I ate some, I was getting hungry and yeah… Sorry!" he apologized in sort of a silly tone, flailing his arms.
This made Ruby giggle, "it's fine, thank you so much for the Pecha Berries!" she stepped on his foot, playing footsies or well "pawsies" on the couch, she was so happy that someone actually came all the way down to her cottage just to bring her some berries
Diego smiled also, this weird smile that made Ruby kind of nervous when she looked at it. She was confused, was he angry, was he sad, what did I do?
"What are you smiling about?" She asked, looking away as her face began to feel a little warm
"Oh, nothing." He said, smiling as he got up from the couch "I should get back to my team, you know you should join! It'd be so much fuuuunnn" he grinned, taking her arms and shaking her a bit as he said the word "fun"
"Only if you stop asking for hugs!"
"Oh yeah that reminds me, can I have a hug?"
"Noooo!"

Peril looked down at the pink cottage, looking through the heart-shaped window and saw a chest with ruby's all over it. Her ears twitched as she heard two pokemon in the small house, making her frown a little in disappointment. She just wanted this job done so she could to her own cottage and train for the upcoming tourmanent.
"This is going to be a piece of cake" she smirked, seeing a male Poochyena and Female Vulpix walk out "now time to get the objective and leave.
