1. Glee is where he should be. Maybe, if he was there by choice, he might like it more. But it is where he is expected to be. He is the fashionable soprano, after all. And football is only for the boys who can't tell a flat from a sharp, and think that salmon is only a fish, not a totally underrated color.

(And yes, maybe it's true that he would be lost without glee club, but it's the lack of choice that bothers him, and if everyone else is going to diva out, he can't exactly look like he's loving every second, can he?)

2. Mr. Schuester. Yes, it's good he hasn't left. Otherwise there wouldn't be any club at all. But Mr. Schue's naivé unawareness of the hazing that goes on is nothing short of sad. Kurt thinks his view of the world must be a very peaceful one.

(And Kurt doesn't need to loosen up. Not at all, no matter what the teacher says)

3. He can't be totally convinced that Mercedes doesn't end up matching him on purpose. It's been too many times to be a coincidence.

(no, he's not flattered)

4. The costumes. Oh God, the costumes.

(Though, to be honest, between him and Mercedes -who is kind of good at this, though he was never going to admit such a thing- they are improving)

5. Finn is much too distracting. Not that Kurt is the only one who notices this, but still. He feels like he is being more obvious than he likes. What is a guy like that doing in a glee club, anyways?

(For the first time, the social system of high school is failing him, and he is just too wrapped up in where things are supposed to stand to realize that perhaps this is just the first sign of something changing for the better)

6. Kurt isn't exactly sure if this counts. It almost ties into number four, but Mercedes is just the beginning. It's the fact that Tina keeps sitting next to him in Chemistry, quietly mumbling any notes they're supposed to take (she doesn't stutter around him. He's not sure if this is a bad thing or not). It's Artie stopping him in the halls to talk about a dance step (still surreal, no matter how many times it happens. talking about footwork with a kid in a wheelchair. Who is wearing a piano belt, to add to everything else). It is Rachel asking his opinion on a new musical, Mercedes complimenting him on an outfit.

It is Finn finally telling Puck to fuck off.

He never asked them to bother him like this. Just because they are in the same club doesn't mean they're the same (he would never be the same). And though sometimes it's nice (Puck's shocked expression comes to mind) it is mostly annoying. He doesn't need them trying to make this sentence easier. They aren't supposed to make him feel welcome (dammit, he isn't supposed to like them, that isn't part of the plan).
