Xirysa Says: Even though he's my automatic goofball, I really did want to write Alain in a more serious sense.
Speechless
Alain always knew what to say. No matter the circumstance, he always had a smart remark and a quick smile on his lips. Sometimes, it was a bit hard to tell whether he drunk or sober, but no one really minded. He was, after all, Alain, joker extrordinare.
Simply put, he was a people person. Alain liked being around people, and most people enjoyed being around Alain. He had a way of turning anything into a joke, and people loved that. It served as a blissful getaway from the bleak reality that was the starving, dying streets of Paris.
He was like a ray of light in the sombriety of their lives. People looked forward to his arrival, to his jokes and pranks and stories and the way he could twist any situation and turn something completely innocent into a blatantly provacative thing.
Even the most cold and uncaring and unemotional person would find themselves smiling after a few words with him.
But when Diane died, Alain didn't know what to say.
He cried instead.
Xirysa Says: I write him as a goof, I know. But there's also this serious side to Alain, and I wanted to see if I could really get that down. Especially in only a few words. Feedback would be very much appreciated!
