A/N: I started to write this for the drabble challenge, which I'm writing with defigraviti, but it's too long. So now you get it here.
Disclaimer: I don't own Wicked. Darn.
Light
"Elphie," Galinda whined, "turn off the light. Elphie? Elphaba!"
Elphaba's head snapped up as she tore her haze away from her text book. "Huh, what? Oh, sorry Galinda. This is just so interesting, and I guess I'm just not quite used to 'Elphie' yet. But I can't turn off the light. We have a test tomorrow, or have you forgotten?"
Galinda sighed. "Didn't any of your teachers ever tell you about the importance of a full night's sleep before a test? You always do this!"
"Sure they told me, but that doesn't mean I listened. It's just that-"
"Of course you didn't listen;" Galinda interrupted, "you don't have to sleep." She gasped, and Elphaba could practically see the light bulb that went on above her head. "Do you photo- photosen-" the light bulb was flickering, "do that thing plants do?"
Elphaba's eyes twinkled. "Why Miss Upland, do I look like a plant to you?"
Galinda bit her lip, but couldn't help from grinning, or from nodding her head slightly.
"Well then," Elphaba said, picking up a pillow from her bed, "I guess I should inform you that it's called 'photosynthesis.'" She lobbed the pillow at Galinda. "And you obviously did forget about tomorrow's test."
All thoughts of the light fled in the pillow fight that ensued.
