With a scream, the Devil surrendered. After many battles, Cuphead and Mugman had finally freed their souls. The Devil waved a white flag. Then, a strange glow appeared in Cuphead's eyes. With a chuckle, he points at the devil. A flash of energy, and the Devil is no more. Mugman looks shocked. "C-cuphead! He surrendered! W-why would you d-do that?" Cuphead picks up the Devil's fallen trident. "Cuphead? What are you doing?". Cuphead, finally seeming to notice his brother, turns. "Mugs! I'm takin' over this joint!" He declares with a toothy grin. It reminds Mugman of the grin of the Devil when he and Cuphead bet on their souls. Mugman shook the memory off. "Cuphead! What's wrong with you?!" Cuphead laughs. "Nothings wrong with me Mugs. I'm just takin' my reward!" Mugman looks stunned. "Huh?" Cuphead sighs. "Mugs, your meant to be the smart one. Hell belongs to me now!" Mugman grabs his brothers shoulders and shakes violently. "Snap out of it Cuphead! You're not the devil! Now let's go home!". Cuphead pushes Mugman away. "Alright Mugs, If you're so upset, We can settle this." Cuphead holds out two dice. "We'll roll for our souls, how about it?" Mugman's face, flashes with shock, then disbelief, then anger. "Do you think I'm an IDIOT!" He screams. "That's what started all of this!". Cuphead chuckles. "Calm down. If you don't wanna roll, you'll fight!" Mugman looks at his brother. "YOU'RE UP!" Cuphead yells, his eyes a sickly green, a tail sprouting from his back, and horns forming on the rim of his head. Mugman falls back. "I'm tired of helpin' ya all the time Mugs. Stand up fer yerself!"He calls. He waits for Mugman to rise. "I'll be sportin' here and give ya another shot. But that's it, ya hear! Now, fight fer yer soul!" Cogs whir in Mugman's mind. Not literally, but metaphorical cogs. Mugman then realises the loophole in the deal. He could exploit it. When Cuphead swings the trident at him, he dodges. He swings again and again, but Mugman only dodges, never striking his brother. Cuphead gets impatient. "Ya gonna do somethin' or are ya jus' gonna take it?" Mugman, frustrated, yells back. "I have a strategy!" Cuphead laughs and strikes Mugman, sending him flying. "Some strategy," He mutters to himself as he walks over to the fallen Mugman. "Ya know, I'd hoped I'd have ta work ta get yer soul, guess not." Mugman chuckles weakly. "You don't get my soul.". Cuphead, intrigued, looks at Mugman. "Whaddaya mean? I beat ya, didn't I?" Mugman nods. "But the deal was to fight, I didn't lift a finger against you," Cuphead thinks, then realizes the logic behind Mugman's words. He grins, then chuckles, then laughs. "HAHAHA! Put that passiveness ta use fer once eh? Ya really proved yaself Mugs," He lifts Mugman up with his trident. "What now?" Mugman asks. Cuphead lists the options. "If I kill ya, you'll end up out there," He motions to the rest of hell, outside the tower. "That ain't no fun, so I got a better idea. I'm makin' ya me RIGHT-HAND MAN!" noticing Mugman's puzzeled look, he explains. "Even the devil had the snob Dice, but we busted 'im up. Ya'll carry out me will, an' run my CASINO!" He then walks to the Devil's throne and sits. The throne shrinks to his size, The backrest styled to look like a cup. "A perfect fit! Now, take ya place at me side Mugs!" Mugman hesitantly gets up and stands next to Cuphead. The horns on Cuphead have grown larger, looking menacingly sharp, his tail whipping out behind him. "Speakin' of the Casino, let's head over there and let 'em now about the change in management!" Mugman jumps, startled. "Are you sure we're ready?" Cuphead thinks. "Yer right! We can't go lookin' like this." He snaps his fingers, and their attire changes completely. Mugman now wears a suit similar to that of King Dice, a suit if blue with a purple bow tie. Cuphead wears a black and red striped suit, a rose in his pocket. "Much better! Now let's get goin'!" As Cuphead turns to leave the tower, Mugman follows thinking. How can I save you Cups?
