A/N: I realize that this chapter is not very long but it is my first attempt at a Phantom fic, so please bear with me.

Prologue

"You fool of a girl," whispered 15-year-old Sarah Maxwell " How can you choose him? After all Erik has done for you."

Tears fell from her face as she watched her favourite movie, The Phantom of The Opera, for what seemed the hundredth time. She hated the ending, Christine leaving, choosing Raoul, after poor Erik had helped her with her singing. She wiped the tears away and turned of her TV.

Sarah had dark brown, almost black hair. Her emerald green eyes gave her nickname given by her friends. She was slim, not too slim, but slim.

She began thinking, if she were Christine, what would she do? Would she leave him, let him destroy the Opera Populaire? Or would she stay and love him, be with him for eternity.

Shaking her head she went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and headed off to bed, or so her parents thought. She turned on her laptop, which was beside her bed. She turned it on, turned on the music player and listened to the soundtrack to the movie.

After 20 minutes of listening to the soundtrack she decided that she had better go to bed, otherwise there was no way she was getting up before her parents. She knew that if she did not awake before them she'd be in big trouble, she would either be screamed at or just ignored. She preferred the latter.

If they knew that she still watched The Phantom of The Opera, well she didn't want to think of what may happen. They did not believe that she should be watching it. " You need to get your head out of the clouds," they would say.

"Well, that just sucks to be them," she thought, " It's my life and I'll do what I want."

After fighting it for twenty minutes, Sarah allowed sleep to take her.
